Waffle House — Restaurant in Summerville

My husband and I walked in, found an empty table that was dirty, moved the empty plates to another dirty table, and sat down. We sat unattended for over 30 minutes while watching employees walk around like they didn't have a clue as to what they were doing. One cleaned a few tables from patrons that left after we arrived. One served the table in front of us while complaining that the cook "got one of their orders wrong because he never listens to me". Not one time did an employee greet us or ask if we needed anything. We walked out of an almost empty dining room, and still... no word. We went next door and spent our money at Taco Bell. There, we were served right away, and had an excellent meal. Shame on you Waffle House employees of Summerville, Ga. SO DISAPPOINTING. ** The above was written some time ago. Today, September 23, 2024, we decided to try it again. What a turnaround!!! All of my 1's are now 5's! Excellent experience!! They all worked like a well oiled machine! I couldn't be happier with the food, cleanliness, and service! ALWAYS give places another chance. Placing a bad review was hard, but give praise and credit when it is due! I would recommend this...

Was rather surprised that a meal was not brought to 1 of our party. I could not get the attention of Anyone -without yelling- to let them know we were missing a meal. [All the cooks and servers were talking among themselves.] No one came to check on us for about 10 minutes after we got our food. I was able to stop a cook who was returning to his station and explained what we lacked. He fixed a waffle and brought it with butter to the table within a couple of minutes. However, no syrup came with the waffle, nor was offered. Noone came to ask if we needed anything. When I saw that we were not going to get any syrup, I reached behind the counter and got a sticky syrup picture...

Horrible service. Extremely unprofessional and inattentive staff. Our waitress kept having to help tables that weren’t hers (while other waitresses stood behind the counter smoking vapes and/or hung out in the parking lot) clean tables all the way across the restaurant, and even cooked our food due to repeatedly asking the cook for it. Do these workers not realize customers can see them? Needless to say the service was very slow. The floor is filthy throughout the entire place. All of this not even to mention the illegal activity taking place in the parking lot! Best to skip this...
