Gigi's Desserts and Soft Serve Ice Cream — Restaurant in Sumter

I was excited to try this place, but was quickly disappointed when I was met with attitude from the young, dark haired girl working behind the counter. I ordered a waffle cone with soft serve chocolate in it, and she handed my son a sugar cone and proceeded to argue with me that that was a waffle cone and I told her no that is a sugar cone. I also ordered a cake cone of soft serve chocolate ice cream and when she held up the cake cone she said is this what you want for the other one? I said yeah that’s a cake cone. She said no this is a sugar cone. I feel like if you’re working at an ice cream place, you should know the difference between a cake cone, a waffle cone, and a sugar cone and if a customer is telling you that is not what they ordered then you should not be met with attitude. You should be like well. I’m sorry. What did you order? Can I fix that for you so needless to say I will not be back and I will make the 30 minute drive to Manning to visit the sweet shop, where the service is great, and the ice cream is...

Visited here with my family after a long day and was completely disappointed with the service and the Ice Cream. The girl who took our order was less than enthusiastic about helping us, she actually seemed quite annoyed that we were speaking to her, even though we were complimenting how nice the store looks. We waited about 10 mins for 5 cups of Ice Cream when we were the only ones in the store at the time. When we got the Ice Cream back to the car, it was disgusting. Completely inedible. The texture was off and it tasted horrible. We took it back immediately where she did issue us a refund. It’s okay. I ordered three macarons and a cheesecake and spent $23. I’m all for supporting small businesses! I understand, I’m building up my own indie business too, but y’all need to understand expensive is expensive. I wouldn’t necessarily say this place stands out compared to other sweets shops in town, either. Also, this isn’t really important but I gave the counter girl a tip and she had no reaction, no thank you, no smile, no nothing, she tossed it in the tip jar with no enthusiasm like it was nothing.
