I had such high expectations for this restaurant despite the reviews. First, I placed my online and was given a time my order would be ready. I arrived after the time that was given that it would be ready. I arrived, the male employees kind of ignored me as if I wasn’t standing at the counter waiting for service. So after about 5 mins of that foolishness, a young lady finally greeted me and asked if I had an order for pick up. I told her yes and gave her my name. She checked for my order in their kiosk and confirmed my order. I had to sit and wait another 10 or 15 mins on my order. So finally my food was ready. I ordered baked turkey wings, Mac & cheese and cabbage for one plate and baked turkey wings, mac & cheese, and rice and gravy for the other. I also ordered dessert which was sweet potato pie and mesha’s red velvet cake along with lemonade and sweet tea to drink. The young lady bagged my order but at the same time she told me there was no more sweet potato pie and asked if I would like something else. I told her no. So I paid for the order and left. I got back to Columbia to eat my food and when I opened the plates, I was highly disappointed in the quality of the food. My baked turkey wings were in fact boiled ( they were way too light to be baked) they turned my stomach so I didn’t eat them. They were undercooked to my liking and I hate boiled turkey wings! The Mac & cheese was the boxed Mac & cheese topped with extra cheese to camouflage that it wasn’t homemade, but the cabbage was awesome. The only thing that was good from the other plate was the rice and gravy. Also, the young lady did not give me the red velvet cake. Ive had mesha’s cakes before so I know that would have been great! I was still charged for the cake and pie and didn’t receive either. And the lemonade…I’m a country girl so I love sweet drinks and things like that but this was sooo sweet that I couldn’t drink it and enjoy it, but the tea good. I spent 55$ on this horrible food and drove to Sumter to try it. I also made sure to tip the employees. I was floored by the food and the appearance of the restaurant. It was not what I expected at all. It looked very outdated and it seemed that there was no thought or effort put into making it inviting or it being cleaned regularly. Overall, my first impression of this restaurant was HORRIBLE! The food was disgusting with the exception of two sides (very sad) and I will NEVER be wasting my money on that foolishness again. Please don’t believe those other reviews, they must be someone the staff knows personally. The food looks totally different in person vs in the pictures in some of these reviews.

We loved the shrimp and grits and the pancakes and chicken. Our server was very nice but seemed uncomfortable as a server. Initially when I ordered she told me that they did not have any grits. I asked if they are making some and had to ask her to ask the cook. He said it will take 20 minutes. I had no problem with that since they had to make the pancake batter and fry the chicken. It was worth the wait. We also asked about ordering breakfast, it was noon, and there was nothing on the menu indicating a time frame for breakfast. Rather than tell us breakfast was not available, the server kept saying we are out of that right now. When I fnally asked if they are serving breakfast, she said no. That would have been nice to know up front. Also, under beverages they listed coffee and orange juice, when we tried to order both, she said they were out. In actuality, they were not doing anything breakfast like. But who doesn't serve coffee all day?! Lastly, a lady came in, without a mask, and went straight to the kitchen. She was speaking very loudly on her phone and was in the kitchen talking, without a mask, all over people's food. She grabbed a plate and took it out to a table, still talking over this lady's food. She got off the phone and started talking to the customer, with their food in her hands, and still not wearing a mask. The customer looked uncomfortable. We paid our bill and left st that point.

The food here is good. It would be nice if they communicate upfront to customers that they are not serving parts of their menu. We were not the only customers frustrated by this. The server was nice but seemed timid in communicating with customers. I am not sure why but it made ordering a bit challenging. The server was very diligent with her hand hygiene and wore a mask at all times. The restaurant is clean and has potential to be a cozy eating establishment.

Lastly, if customers and employees have to wear a mask, so should the owners, especially while in people's personal space. Because the kitchen is open and customers can see what you are doing, I suggest being on your best...

Was quite let down for the second time trying this place I try to be honest as can be especially when it comes to small businesses but in my honest opinion this place does not deserve all the hype it gets, the first time I tried shrimp n grits and was extremely let down the grits were way too soupy I think I counted a total of five what appeared to be frozen baby Shrimp in the entire portion, when I eat shrimp and grits I expect fresh jumbo shrimp to be served not frozen baby shrimp but none the less every one has their own opinion on how they like their shrimp and grits but i was personally let down by this restaurants dish; I figured I’d give the benefit of the doubt and try them again the only reason I gave two stars and not one was because the chicken wings were pretty tasty not the best I’ve ever had but they were tasty but the Mac and cheese and green beans were both pretty unappetizing to me the green beans must have been sitting in a pot all day long and I got the bottom of the pot because they were mushy and over seasoned then the Mac and cheese tasted like it was premade with some cheese sauce and random seasonings thrown in it seemed like you would get from the grocery premade and throw some of your own seasonings in it definitely did not seem homemade..to have spent almost 15 dollars on one single meal for myself both tjme I would have to say this place is very overpriced for what you get and definitely not worth the money, I am no means trying to bash a restaurant just wanted to leave my honest review so others could be aware of the small portions of untasty food that you get for the price, if you got more food in your plate the prices would be very fair but for the amount of food and the quality of the food I received both times I was...
