Don Jose's — Restaurant in Sun City

We had a few different items off their menu. Tamales, Steak and Beef Taco and their Pazole.

Steak tacos where tough and lacked typical seasoning, rice again bland lacked traditional seasonings, refried beans were good. Ground beef tacos were more like a bland hamburger meet of which again did not have traditional Mexican spices. Pazole was more like a bland beef broth soup.

Tamale was similar to a hot dog stand American tamale.

Horchata was not horchata. I can't tell you what the heck it was ...

Being from Chicago, I think this place makes Mexican food and culture look terrible. This is not Tex Mex either... Texmex is better and I'm not a fan of texmex.

On a good note, staff was polite, environmentally the place appeared clean. If the food was true to Mexican cuisine and the restaurant was true to Mexixan culture, I would give this place a four star rating. Sadly It's not.

I will not patronize this...

I ordered a cheese crisp lunch special . Got home they had put in a beef burrito , I picked it up and it was covered in beans. The beans always over flow the little compartment they put them in and everything I order is covered in beans . I’ve been going there over 10 years and they are getting sloppy . The food is average nothing special, I only go there because I’m not that picky but I do expect what I order and not to be covered in their beans. They are nice people but I’m not sure if I will be back , it’s a hassle and when I called and told Don he didn’t apologize , yes he did say come back and get another one but that is a real Hassle. Plus it would be covered in their beans . Everything I order my entree is covered in beans . I like beans ok but not on my entree. Probably won’t be back , if he would have said sorry for your inconvenience I would have considered it but their food is not good enough to have...

Ordered a simple steak and egg burrito. There was no option on the delivery app to add cheese and sour cream but there was a note section so I added my request there. When the food gets delivered I get a lovely note stating that the extras must be ordered on the app. LOL - I will note that I got 9 salsas? I mean ok thank you. A note to the owner - you should probably review the app, because there is not a section to add extras. The burrito was plain, they did add salt and pepper packets with 9 salsas on the side. I don't recommend this place. This is def my first and last order from this place. Side note - I did look to see if they had a website to see if that's what they were referring to but they not only don't have a website, when I click on order delivery it has the same options as the delivery app....
