Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Sun Prairie

My friend and I tackled a long standing bucket list that involved hitching a one ton Percheron (draft horse) to a large wagon for a B & B (Blizzard & Bud) drive thru run. We love the pineapple mango smoothies (we had to stop at the liquor store en route for a beer for our horse, Capt. Ahab). The drive thru staff handled our visit with the finest of courtesy and respect.. They didn't refuse to serve us like McDicks. Their smoothies are positively top shelf. They were also thoughtful enough to include plenty of napkins and a drink carrier. The staff also were kind enough to walk our order out since the wagon seats didn't align well with their drive thru window. I've been coming to this DQ since the mid 70s. It's a testament to the iconic curbside no frills service restaurants that have all but disappeared. Definitely still worthy of a special bucket list journey. Went through the drive thru, ordered two small shakes and a small blizzard. Got to the window and pulled up my 2/$4 shake coupon and clicked redeem. Went to show my coupon to the girl and she took my phone (bad idea, you don't just take my phone from my hand without asking first) and then tells me i dont have a shake coupon, which she had just sat there and watched me pull up for her. She must have touched the screen when she grabbed my phone and backed out of the redeem screen. Then she proceeds to argue with me that i didnt have that coupon, she only saw the blizzard coupon that she used for my order. Yet, the blizzard coupon didnt go away after redeeming it. Maybe because it was the shake coupon......... Smh. Needless to say, we ended up only buying one shake and the blizzard and will be looking for a Dairy Queen that won't be treat us like we are trying to scam them on...

ON TUESDAY DECEMBER 21st 2021 I VISITED THIS DRIVE-THRU BETWEEN 8:30PM & 8:45PM. I WAS WITH MY BEST FRIEND & HER DAUGHTER - WE WERE COMING FROM HER DAUGHTER'S CHOIR CONCERT AT THE MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL - AND MAY I ADD: "THE CONCERT WAS LOVELY!.. THEY WANTED TO STOP FOR TREATS AFTERWARDS...... LOL I'M A DIABETIC! I CRAVE SUGAR!,. I ASKED "HANNAH" THE KIND LADY THAT WAS WORKING THE DRIVE-THRU ..... DO YOU GUYS HAVE SOMETHING DIABETIC FRIENDLY?. SHE HAPPILY SAID: "LET ME CHECK". SHE COULDN'T FIND IT IN THIS PAMPHLET THAT SHE WAS LOOKING IN, SO SHE SAID..."LET ME GO CHECK SOMETHING ELSE" SHE CAME BACK TO THE WINDOW WITH "THE DILLY BAR!" IT HAD (❤ 6GRAMS OF SUGAR ❤) I WAS SO HAPPY! & IT WAS DELICIOUS!. IT DID NOT RAISE MY SUGAR. I WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING TO A FASTING BLOOD SUGAR WITHIN RANGE OF MY TYPE-2 DIABETES.
