Fin Sushi - Sun Prairie — Restaurant in Sun Prairie

Price was ~$45/person, and definitely the only reason this review did not earn 5-stars.

The quantity of food you receive vs. the amount you pay for it, doesn't make you feel good and has you questioning if they forgot a container.

Crab Rangoon. Can recommend as a starter, as it has a phenomenal filling, with more than just cream cheese! 10/10.

Gyoza is an 8/10; if it was one of three things: more fresh, more crunchy, or filled with another veggie of sorts (think pea), this starter can become a 9 or 10. I really enjoyed the flavors within the Gyoza, as well as the fact that it was not deep-fried!

Tokoyaki - 8/10 | Personally, I was not expecting the texture or scent that I received from the Tokoyaki... Picture a Boa bun, but smaller, and when you bight into it you are met with the consistency of spicy tuna. Not my thing and frankly was a sensory nightmare, however, I can appreciate the taste. The smell of this start was off-putting to me, but was not factored into the rating, as I have never tried Tokoyaki before. Lastly, if you are getting this takeout/curb-side, expect to see a compacted squish of dough balls with an alarming scent upon opening!

Firecracker Roll is a 8/10. Quite a mouthful! A great choice if you are hungry and want a nice crunchy, straightforward roll. Paired well with the eel sauce. Sushi quality, as well as the quantity, was very impressive!

Spider Roll - 7/10. More than a mouthful! Taste is fine.

Bamboo Roll - 8/10. Compliments the Firecracker Roll. A very refreshing roll.

Out of Control Roll - 5/10. Not my thing and also not as advertised. Topping is just a thick gooey layer with a weird consistency. Inside the roll is very nice and refreshing. I would go with something else, personally.

Surprisingly, I would go here over TK or Red in Madison. Fin Sushi's sushi quality is better, overall, than its competitors, which doesn't go unnoticed when it comes time...

Tonight, we tried this new establishment. The reviews were great. We have eaten sushi all over the world. We approach sushi establishments with some element of critical caution. For the Madison area, there are many sushi restaurants. This one is unique. The outer shell of the location was actually quite impressive. A nice logo, a nicely finished custom stucco-ish coating, and easy parking made for a good start. We entered on a Monday night to find the place feeding a number of folks. Oddly, you order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. The menus were clean and clear. You circle your desired dishes with provided markers and hand in to the cashier. She told us to select a table and fill out the menus there. The seating area only has 6 or 8 booths, but this area was actually very contemporary and urban. The seating was comfortable and the lighting very nice. Subtle artwork was tasteful. We selected our dishes and I went to the counter and handed in the order. The process was fast and familiar. The tip was given at that point. Then we were both seated. Within minutes our appetizers arrived. The Rock Shrimp was awesome. The miso soup quite delicious and I received a salad along with the Sushi Deluxe platter. The salad was actually stunningly fresh and vibrant. Our sushi selections were well prepared and sized perfectly. The cuts were expert. The prices really surprisingly reasonable. Overall, we were both very pleased and excited to have found this little pearl in Sun Prairie. We intend to return. Seating is limited, so take-out may be best...

I was going to be in Sun Prairie for the day on October 11th. I was looking for a sit down restaurant for Sushi and reasonably priced. I came across Fin Sushi and I looked at the prices on the menu and I was shocked at the prices for the Vegetable Spring Rolls, the California Rolls, the Philadelphia Rolls, and the soda. I got to the restaurant and it was very cute, warm and tastefully decorated and welcoming. I ordered the Vegetable Spring Rolls, the California Rolls, the Philadelphia Rolls, and got a soda and I was totally impressed with the total of my bill. I will recommend Fin Sushi to anyone that plans on visiting Sun Prairie. Thank you for the wonderful meal...
