Went through the drive thru today 10/07/23, and ordered 4 subs - 2 #5’s Italian subs and 2 Skinny #13’s. As soon as I pulled up to the window, a young lady came to take my payment. Without saying much of anything she instantly asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I’m used to being prompted at fast food restaurants to leave a tip when paying by credit card. This was the first time though that I’ve been asked by a person in a drive thru and put on the spot like that. It caught me off guard. For several years in the past I waitressed and bartended. I know how much tips always meant to me, so I always tip pretty generously when I’m out at restaurants and bars. When prompted by the credit card machine to tip at a fast food restaurant I always tip too, but less than I would if I was at a restaurant being served by someone. Typically when you tip it’s on your food and experience. To be pushed to tip before I’ve even gotten the food or saw how the experience went is a bit crazy to me. If it’s a great experience I’ll tip more. In spite of all this I know like today these are younger kids working so I’ll always tip something. The way this young lady asked for a tip without even really saying Hi or anything caught me by surprise. I told her I’ve got cash, go ahead and run my card for the food and I’ll leave a tip in cash. I grabbed my wallet to pull out a few dollars and realized I didn’t have cash like I thought I did. I had enough change though to leave a dollar tip. So I put 4 quarters in the tip jar. I know it wasn’t much, but thought a dollar was better than nothing. It then took forever for the subs to be made. My son and I sat in the drive thru for probably close to 10 minutes at this point waiting for the sandwiches to be made. I didn’t even mind that at the time, but did think it was a bit odd it took so long when there was no one else in the drive thru line and I didn’t see anyone in the restaurant. We were the only ones there at the time, and there were 3 people working. When the girl finally brought the bag with the subs, she handed it to me and quickly looked down in the tip jar to see what I had tipped, and seemed to have an attitude. When we got home and opened up our sandwiches, the picture below shows the Italian subs. There was a couple small pieces of meat and the cheese. There were no toppings. These usually come with lettuce, tomato, onions, and oil. Nothing, just the little bit of meat and cheese. In hindsight I think this young lady and the workers heard me drop the change in the tip jar. The way the expectation of a tip was presented was actually appalling. I think these workers probably heard me drop the change in the tip jar and expected more than that. In the end, having it take as long as it did seemed like that was on purpose. Then to see the product when we got home. We just spent over $30 for a whole bunch of bread, couple small pieces of meat and cheese, and pushed with the expectation and feeling of even though I tipped, it wasn’t good enough. Milios has gotten to be pretty expensive over time. We always have liked their subs and would still be ok paying their prices knowing how expensive everything is now. After this experience though my family will definitely not return to this location and even possibly any Milios again.

I ordered a pick up order at 12:19 pm and online it said it would be ready by 12:34 pm. I arrived to pick it up at 12:41 pm and they hadn’t even started the sandwich. I was not greeted in a friendly manner nor did it look that clean in the dining area.

I went in and requested a special make of sandwich - the folks there did a great job with my complicated request, making a sandwich that can definitely be described as one of the best sandwiches i’ve ever had! Mmmmmm! Thanks!

DON'T GO! Go to Subway or Jimmy John's in Sun Prairie instead.

This place used to be great. Since covid it hasn't been the same. Just a gradual decline since. Now to the point I will not go to this location. Other Millio's are great like the Mononna location.

And before the "owner" responds to this review, here is the message I sent to the email in the link you generically post in all the negative responses. You guys never replied and don't really care. Just close this location.

‐‐------------------------‐‐---------------------------- I was just at your Sun Prairie location and ordered a #9.

The counter person was friendly.

The sandwich maker had a bad attitude. He didn't look like he wanted to be there moving slowly. Lettuce, mayo and other food all over the cutting board getting transferred to my sandwich. I let it ride maybe he was really busy before me.

There was roast beef and lettuce on the outside of my sandwich. I had the Italian, no roast beef. Then the sandwich wasn't fully wrapped bread sticking out. Lettuce and mayo on the outside of my wrapper. I had to wipe off.

He said #9. I grabbed my sandwich and I said thank you sir and have a nice day to try and cheer him up. He didn't even look at me or respond.

I get back to work and the bread tasted terrible. Too heavy on yeast or something. Couldn't even eat it. Now lunch is over.

This used to be a great location. I will never go back to this one again.

It was not a pleasant Friday lunch.

Send a manager there now and I bet they'd...

Talk about an impressive sandwich(s)...this place takes you right to a deli buried in the CT to mid New Jersey seaboard or big city in between. They make their own perfect bread which is as good as any I've ever eaten, EVER. The cookies the meats, oh and the veggies are of superior quality even for being out of season. Fresh bright CLEAN surroundings very small cozy easy access to anything downtown. Walk, bike, some tight parking probably because of a brisk drive thru business. The owner is obviously a refugee from a big eastern city it's too uncanny. Surreal almost. The single BEST by far big or small sandwich shop I've been in since the last time I had a seriously great sandwich in NYC or even better North Jersey. Roast beef turkey chicken an impressive array of Italian themed temptations...the cookies they make onsite from scratch are to die for. Of note, the employees he has are a stellar lot too. They care about your experience and aren't afraid to show it. Solid SIX of five stars. If you don't go here you're missing out. It's worth any ride from Madison or the surrounding area 30-45 minutes out. My daughter was right. DAD you gotta try dis place here in town!! Dad....can we go back? Yes...yes we WILL be back and I'm...
