Sadly my expectations were higher than what reality was going to provide. I’m guessing they used to have menus judging by the photos but when we arrived there was none. It was cafeteria style where you point at what you want and they dish it into to-go containers and give you some cheap plastic silverware and cheap small thin paper napkins. Even at noon time the food seemed like it had been there all day. Rubber, soggy over cooked chicken, mushy noodles, super soft jalapeño pepper slices, mushy spring rolls. Overall it just wasn’t good. Which was really disappointing because I had high hopes judging by the previous reviews. I can’t help but think I must have went through a vortex and landed in a bizarro world where everything was the opposite. There’s no prices anywhere so I had no idea how much things cost. Am I paying by the plate or the entree? Who knows! Let’s just YOLO it and see what happens. Two containers with two entrees and a side plus four spring rolls was about $35.00 in case you are wondering. My gfs stomach is upset and I feel something rumbling that I’m not quite sure about. As of right now I would not recommend this place...
Read moreThis Chinese restaurant serves great authentic Chinese food that I usually love to have whenever I went out for more dinner options back in China. I ordered Cucumber, Black Fungus and Beancurd Robes Salad and Spicy Szechuan Fish Soup with Pickled Greens (or Suan Cai Yu in Chinese). The salad was fresh and delicious, and I get to choose the spicy level for the fish soup since I don’t like having spicy food with too much chili in it. The fish slices in the fish soup is thin enough to make it very tender, and the Szechuan pepper in there bites your tongue mildly, making it a pretty exciting feeling when having the food. If I have to name anything else that can be further improved, then my preference on thinner beancurd robes over thicker ones can be one of the few. But overall it was a great eat there in this local restaurant. The interior is clean and cool enough, and the staff there are very nice and friendly when serving tourists like me. I felt like I could always have some comfort food like this to cure my homesickness...
Read moreWe were there for a “soft opening” at the lunch hour. We chose the meat+eggplant (non-spicy) and meat+ mushroom (spicy🌶️ we were told). The sizes were a bit different but enough food for a person each. The braised noodles were tasty. It could have been warmer and maybe a flatter spoon (like the kind at pho places) could have been useful. Atmosphere: it was very cold inside on this rainy day. Service: it was unclear whether we should stand and place an order near the “cashier” stand or wait at our table. Water wasn’t offered but when another table asked for tea we piggy-backed on the request and received some very nice loose leaf jasmine tea. Overall 好吃! Good luck with operating this...
