If you're searching for an authentic and heartwarming Turkish breakfast experience in the Bay Area, look no further than Nahita Bakery. Named after the ancient Roman name for Nigde, this charming spot truly lives up to its promise of delivering homemade flavors.
From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly baked goods and brewing tea transports you straight to a cozy Turkish home. The star of the show, without a doubt, is their Turkish Boreks. My favorite is potato filledborek. These flaky, savory pastries, filled with various delicious ingredients, are a true revelation. Each bite feels like it's been prepared with care and tradition, perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft within. The variety ensures there's something for everyone, whether you prefer cheese, spinach, or potato fillings.
Complementing the Boreks, and equally impressive, is the unlimited tea service. This isn't just any tea; it tastes genuinely homemade, brewed to perfection with that comforting warmth and rich, inviting aroma. It's the kind of tea that encourages you to linger, chat, and savor every moment of your meal.
Beyond the Boreks and tea, Nahita Bakery offers a full Turkish breakfast spread for two people that includes an array of cheeses, olives, fresh vegetables, jams, honey, choice of your eggs and borek. Every item on the plate feels fresh and thoughtfully sourced, contributing to a truly wholesome and satisfying meal.
The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely weekend breakfast with family or friends. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience.
Nahita Bakery is more than just a breakfast spot; it's a culinary journey that brings the rich, comforting flavors of Turkish home cooking to the Bay Area. Highly recommended for anyone craving an authentic and delicious start...
Read moreYou start your morning with your spouse, thinking, âLetâs grab a nice breakfast, enjoy the fresh air, maybe start the day with something warm and tasty.â A lovely idea indeed. And then you walk into this place. And just like that, your beautiful morning begins to crumble.
We ordered pastries to go, which arrived cold. A normal place would say, âSure, let me warm that up for you,â and handle it in two minutes. What happened here? A 30-minute warming ritual. As if they were preparing a space shuttle for launch. As if heating a pastry required a full engineering team. And every time we asked, the same legendary line: âItâll be ready soon.â Apparently, in their universe, âsoonâ translates to an eternity.
The staffâs attitude toward customers was also impressive⊠because there was none. They didnât look at us, didnât acknowledge us, and practically treated us like we were invisible. It takes real talent to ignore people that thoroughly.
And inside the to-go bag? Absolutely nothing. No napkins, no utensils â nothing at all. Apparently the theme of this place is: âYou have hands. Why would we give you utensils?â
And the taste, after all that waiting? â Bad. So bad that I wasnât sure whether I should be upset about the terrible flavor, the wasted time, or just the entire experience in general.
In summary, this place is perfect for one thing only: ruining an otherwise perfectly good morning. If you want your day to feel like a slow-motion disaster, this is the spot. But if you value your time, your mood, or even basic service⊠stay...
Read moreMy husband is Turkish, so we are always on the lookout for good Turkish breakfast and Turkish food. But often, we are disappointed with the Turkish breakfast or generally Turkish food in the bay area. You either have to pay a lot to get good food or you get very mediocre food. So when we decided to check this place out, we really lowered our expectations. Nonetheless, we loved this place. A 45-minute drive was totally worth it. We got several pastries and desserts to go as well so that we can keep enjoying their food.
We went with the Nahita special for 2, and let me tell you that at least 3 adults could get full on this food. They serve a generous amount. Besides, kaymak and honey with simit were my highlights. Another huge plus is that you can keep drinking as much black tea as you want. This is the definition of Turkish hospitality. We had several tea glasses of tea each.
The place lacks in decoration and fancy interior style, but it makes up in food many times over. Also, I would much rather keep food reasonably priced than make the place...
