I eat regularly at the original location and I've never been treated as badly as have been here. My usual order is an El Pastor super burrito and usually pay in cash since it just makes things easier and they offer a discount for cash anyways. I came around 1 so towards the tail end of lunch rush so lots of people inside but no line when got there, which is perfect. The lady behind the counter already didn't look happy to see me when walked in to order but people have bad days so didn't let it bother me. After placing my order, I tried paying with a $100 bill since that's all had on me and she told me need to give something smaller with some attitude. don't have anything else So need to use card now.
I walked next door to the grocery store while waiting for my order but wasn't gone for more than a few mins and when stepped back in, my order number was call, perfect timing. get there and confirm my order number and order and the lady pulled the bag back and asked to see the ticket number. give her the ticket so she can confirm my order number and give me my food. I then ask for some more red sauce since prefer it to green sauce and she says she doesn't have any, as she is filling up containers of it right there. I then ask her what about one of those on the counter she's filling up, she then proceeds to pull them back and says no. How do you blatantly lie like that. If you want to charge for it, say so and I'd pay for it. I'm not the kind of person that causes problems so| didn't say anything but never come to this location ever again and I'm not even sure I'll ever come to the chain again. This has left such a bad taste...
Read moreLopez Taqueria in Sunnyvale next to Popeye’s opened recently. It is a small restaurant with 10 tables indoors and none outdoors. When I was there for noon lunch, 3 tables had customers but they had a lot of takeout business.
The problem was the temperature inside was very cold. Outdoors was 52F. Indoors must have been about 65F so the other customers were eating with their winter coats on. The problem is that cold air cools off hot food. I urge the Lopez owner or manager to require that the temperature be set to 70 or 71 or 72 degrees whenever the place is open so the food stays hot and customers can take off their coats.
I ordered two tacos, rice, and water. The tacos were tasty. The rice was plain, as is expected. The meal included a small amount of chips and salsa. The salsa was different than most restaurants but I preferred it, although the portion was too tiny.
Customers order at the front cashier and the food is brought to one’s table. The cashier was cordial. I like that the electronic menu is brightly lit and easy to read.
There is plenty of free street level parking in the outdoor strip mall in front of the restaurant.
If I knew that the restaurant would be warm inside, I would return and try the very large beef soup, which the cashier said was their best soup and cost about...
Read moreOMG this is the best place to ever get a fish taco!! I have traveled all over Mexico and many California food trucks, and restaurants. I know where to get the best chili verde burrito, the best place to get carnitas, you name it. This is by far the best place for fish tacos!! I'm not sure how they get that one tortilla crispy on the inside. With large portions of avocado on top. But it's absolutely hands down out of this world :-) and both the rice and the beans are good as well, which all the places I've been to one would be good but the other one would be bad, at both their sides of rice and beans awesome!!! I would go there often if I had the financial ability to do so, but for me to afford 20 dollar lunch is not feasible. Wish they had a senior discount, like half price, I will be there 2 to 3 times a week at least. I have met a few of the people who have tried different things than me and they love the food as well. So enjoy this amazing place! I have recently thought about inquiring about the other Lopez taqueria is wondering if they cook it the same way or not? you should definitely go to this place, I'm sure whatever order you choose...
