Wife and I decided to give this place a try because we heard good things about it. We went for breakfast one day. Upon walking in, it was very plain looking. I don't care about looks though. I care about the food. We are seated and the waitress comes and takes drink orders but does not seem friendly. Almost annoyed that we are there. She takes our orders when she returns, we wait and drink our coffee until the food arrives. When the food arrives, we are both shocked. The portions were very small! Especially, for how much they were charging. My wife got biscuits and gravy and I got the corned beef hash and eggs. My hash was maybe one spoonful of hash, smashed down thin like a pancake. I swear I had 2 medium size eggs. Cooked over easy, not much bigger than the top of a pop can in size. My wife's biscuits and gravy were 2 tiny, dry and hard biscuits with maybe a ladle of sausage gravy that tasted like gravel! I wish I had taken pictures but I didn't! I couldn't wrap my head around it and it bothered me to the point were I had to say something. I asked the waitress flat out, "is this all we get with these orders?" She said, "Yeah, that's it." and walked away. Now, my wife and I weren't expecting 5 pounds of food on our plates but to see so much empty plate with an order that is supposed to be the equivalent of a meal, it just didn't make any sense. So, after that I believe the waitress got a chip on her shoulder and I had to go without coffee for the remainder of the meal(which wasn't long). I finished my meal in literally a few bites. My wife barely touched hers. When the waitress cleared our plates, she had to have noticed the uneaten biscuits and gravy but didn't say anything. Most wait staff would inquire as to why someone didn't eat the food they ordered. You know, just to check if everything was ok? Not her! Just took the plates and left. We paid our bill once we got it and left. I don't know what happened that day or why our breakfast was the size of a meal you'd give a toddler but something was definitely off. I tell people to this day about that experience and they all say the same thing, "That's never happened to me when I've been there." I see the recent pictures posted of their food! It looks good! It looks like the right portion size! We also still hear from people how good it is. I gotta follow my gut, I'm not going back. There are other places in Superior that are consistently better. For me, I do not...
Read moreBummed out by my experience because we are in a pandemic.. and that didn’t seem to be an issue to anyone working here. One waitress had a mask ( not worn correctly though.. it was pulled down to her chin...) You cannot tell me that every single employee has a medical concern that prevents them from wearing a mask. A business should care a little more about the health and safety of the customers. IMO🤷♀️
In regards to your response on google and trying to contact me on my personal Facebook page:
I have no personal issue with anybody whatsoever that works for KD’s. The issue I have is that not one employee was following the Covid guidelines. I honestly don’t write many reviews but after the all around service that didn’t meet my standards and the mask issue..I felt very compelled to write a personal review. I didn’t write a review to bash anybody or bash a business.. definitely wasn’t my intention BUT to share my thought and opinion as I have every right to do. That’s what reviews are for. I definitely felt that your reply shows no empathy or care for your customers.. might I add very aggressive. Not only to my review but to everybody else that has had an issue with the restaurant. I find it very unprofessional. Do better.
UPDATE:
I want to make it clear that by no means am I trying to close your restaurant down. Reviews are made weather good or bad as a tool so you can better your business. What I suggest is just showing a little bit more empathy and grace to your customers concerns. I truly believe that will go along way and it will come off to be a lot more professional. Take it or leave it, I wish you...
Read moreWhen this place first opened it was really good. Amazing actually. Every other time after though it has continually gotten worse and worse. This last time going in was the very last straw for me to never again go back. The wait staff have always been very nice, attentive and pleasant. I was in there today for a late morning breakfast. I ordered the breakfast burrito covered with hollandaise sauce. The sauce was burned. I even tried a taste just in case it was only the color. No it really was bad. The waitress brought me a menu so I could order something else. I figured I would try the corned beef hash since its homemade. There is nothing homemade about this hash except thrown together slop. It was made out of sliced corned beef like for a sandwich and mixed with regular shredded hash browns and onion. An older man in the booth over from us had ordered the same thing and was asking the waitress about it. She had tried to ask the cook about how it was made and it how it is supposed to be made. You could clearly hear the cook berating her for asking. After receiving my plate I knew exactly what the man was talking about. I also ordered it with OVER MEDIUM eggs. They were still slimy in the whites. Not to mention the restaurant itself is freezing cold inside and I do understand below zero temps have a little to do with keeping heat in but to be uncomfortably cold as far away from the door is ridiculous. One of the waitresses said she had already turned the heat up twice prior to...
