Good: Pizza is not going to win any awards, but was tasty and filling. Roughly on par with a Blaze Pizza if you've ever eaten there. One pizza is almost big enough for two people, so at around $15 for a pie, the value is not bad. We both had enough left for lunch the next day. Service was fine for a fast casual type place. Free refills on the soda, and they have that GOOD ice.
Not so good: Wouldn't recommend trying to dine in. Tables were all unwiped and dirty despite us being the only customers in there, and 3 employees working. Dining area is really just a corner, and they only have a couple high tops with stools that were uncomfortable for us to sit at as average sized people. Can't imagine someone elderly, or larger in size trying to sit there and eat. They give you the pizzas in takeout boxes (no plates) and the tables really aren't big enough for two boxes. Wife and I had to each sit at a seperate table to have room to eat. Really no decor to speak of. Clearly a takeout only oriented place (they also apparently don't deliver yet).
Verdict: A good spot for a large group to pick up a few pies to split on their way to somewhere else to eat them. Pizza is not going to impress any pizza snobs out there, but for most folks they'll find it to be tasty, filling, and a decent value...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were visiting Surf City and wanted something quick and familiar. We found Wildfire in an online search for pizza. It wasnāt far from our place so we ordered. Our first issue was with their online ordering system. It was not user friendly. You could order a ābuild your own saladā or ābuild your own pastaā but it gives no indication of serving size. We ordered one of the signature fire pizzas, white cap pizza, and a side of pasta with the regular sauce and fresh mozzarella. The online system said it would be ready in 45 minutes. We got there at the 35 minute mark, and although kept in a warming oven, you could tell the food had been ready for some time. We got back to our place and were excited to dig in. First impression⦠The pasta was very cheesy (never a complaint) and the pizza looked very appealing. First tasteā¦SALT. So much salt that it burned the mouth. We basically nixed the pasta dish because we couldnāt figure out where the salt was coming from. The pizza had a lot of saltier ingredients (cheese, bacon, white sauce) but was also just so salty that my husband, who typically loves salt, couldnāt eat it.
I wish we were in Surf City longer and could give it another try because I think the place has a...
