TL;DR: First time in today. Thought I'd give it a shot. My experience was mixed, and unfortunately I won't be going back.
Pros: The older gentleman and the younger man working were both polite and engaging. The banter they had was entertaining. I ordered pizza and wings to go, with a side of garlic cheese bread. They gave me a free drink while I waited inside the restaurant for my order to finish. The garlic cheese bread was very good, and the pizza had lots of toppings.
Cons: Only one, but its a BIG one. As I glanced into the kitchen I noticed the younger man using his personal phone while in the midst of preparing foods. (This isn't an issue of time. I got my order in a reasonable amount of time. It's an issue of cleanliness.) Bacteria from your hands gets onto a phone, you put it into your pocket, you go to work. You wash your hands and do everything you need to do to be clean, and then you pop that unwashed cell phone back out of your pocket to answer a text and you contaminate your hands with the unwashed cellphone that followed you around all day to the bathroom and everywhere else. No matter how clean a person you believe yourself to be, this isn't good food service practice. For that reason alone I won't go back, at least for a very long time.
Addendum: Totally personal preference here, but for me, Italian anything should have a certain level of flavor and spiciness. The pizza's flavors were very subtle to me even though the crust was perfect and there were plenty of toppings. The sauce just didn't "pop" like it should, no tang and not a lot of that bright tomato flavor that pizza sauce should have. The price and portions were in line with other restaurants of comparable...
Read moreI'm from New York, I know what New York pizza tastes like and it is impossible to find outside of New York. I've lived in several states and traveled to almost all 50, trying pizza in them all. Absolutely NONE of the other states came close to Brothers Pizza.
People open pizza shops all over and claim to have New York pizza, that's BS. Full of sugar, overcooked, over-seasoned, cheap sauce, the list goes on...
BUT...
Brothers Pizza in Surprise, is THE CLOSEST pizza to real authentic New York pizza I have ever found all across the country. I have had family members from New York come to visit who also agreed, this is hands down the closest pizza you will find to real New York pizza.
I was reading through the reviews and most comments that were negative were complaining about wanting a well done pizza, go to New York and ask for a well done pizza, they'd throw you out. That should tell you everything you need to know about those people. It seems most people have gotten used to Domino's and Papa John's sugar loaded pizza. Obviously these people have not had real New York pizza.
If you want fake stuffed crust, well done, sugar loaded pizza, go somewhere else for that nonsense, because you will NOT find it here. Here you will find real authentic New York pizza.
PS: I literally bought a house near Brothers Pizza, because everyone from New York knows you can't go...
Read moreI almost never hate on pizza, but this is the worse pizza I’ve ever had in my life. It just tastes bad, I’ve never had a pizza that tasted bad but they somehow managed to. The cheese tasted old and rotten, the dough wasn’t cooked, and I swear to god Chucky Cheese tastes better. The ranch dressing they also gave me wasn’t ranch? It was some kind of white goop that tasted life nothing? I have no idea what else to say. I want a refund lol.
Update: AJ I no longer want a refund I want you to make edible pizza. Whatever you call this frozen microwave pizza and white glue dressing needs to be thrown out and start over. Whoever made this recipe wasn’t even on drugs cause people on drugs have better taste than this. My dog tasted a slice and spit it out I swear to god. Once you have edible pizza I’ll be back. The ball is in your court sir.
Update: AJ, I stopped by again yesterday and guess what? The pizza was exactly the same and tasted like it was 10 days old. I’m not afraid of immigrants, I’m afraid of pizza restaurants that make terrible pizza, which you are #1 on the list for being. I realize you’ve been here for 20 years, have you been trying to make good pizza for 20 years or do you need another 20? If you need some help let me know, I already have a job but it looks like you need help in the kitchen. Much...
