I came here for the first time on Friday evening, June 20th. It’s an awkward setting as you park to the side and back, and then walk to the front that faces Bell Rd. Upon entering there was no host to greet you. I was by myself and sat at the bar. Toni was behind the bar, and handed me a menu; then took my order for water and a Sprite. After perusing the menu I gave her my selection of the 20 oz Outlaw ribeye, medium-rare, sweet baked potato, and Caesar salad. The salad arrived. I wasn’t aware of the time, and yet the server who brought it was apologetic. I really didn’t notice how long it took, and wasn’t worried or upset. I was relaxing nicely and viewing some scores on my phone’s app. The salad was fine. By the time I finished it, Toni brought my steak. I started with the baked sweet potato 🍠 with butter and brown sugar. I really enjoy sweet baked potatoes over normal baked potatoes. Toni checked on me and asked how the steak was? I didn’t touch it yet, and continued finishing the sweet potato. As I cut into the steak it started out okay. By the time I was cutting further into the ribeye it was clear that the steak was overcooked, and at least medium. Toni got her manager involved. A new steak was ordered. When it came out the platter had a lot of juices on the plate. Not starting from the outside, I cut straight center into the steak. It was worse than the first one being medium-well. It baffled me, and as the manager came by, we talked about it to try and understand why the steak was not cooked to order. Was it the cut, the quality of meat, or both? I didn’t take a picture, I should have, and thinking about it the steak was cut on the thin side. It was rather odd now that I recall; showing grill marks crossed perfectly on both sides. Did the chef overturn the steak which adds to drying the meat out; did they allow it to rest after cooking — these are questions they need to ask themselves. Evan was very kind by removing the order from my check. In order to leave Toni a tip I ordered the chocolate lava cake for dessert. It was good. Most of all it was huge! We had more interesting conversations before I closed out my check. Evan mentioned some other items on the menu; specifically the bbq ribs. We’ll see about coming back. It’s disappointing that the kitchen couldn’t prepare a steak medium-rare. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The restroom was okay, and could have used a little attention. That’s it for my experience. In comparison to Texas Roadhouse I’d have to say without a doubt they’re the place to go. The price is comparable, but Texas Roadhouse offers bread; and the steaks come with two sides that have green beans as well as their baked sweet potato. You should experience both and decide which you like best. There aren’t many options in the West Valley other than Outback; and the more premium steakhouses near Waddell...
Read morePretty disappointed. Actually very upset that I had higger expectations. There were red flags from the start. Upon check in on the phone and entering the restaurant we were pushed aside from being seated and they handled a party waiting and not yet their turn before us because one of the woman in the party was pestering. We get to out tabel and have our 3yr old with us and want to order water coke and broccoli w macncheese asap so our daughter can start eating.. her food didn't come out until AFTER our chicken wing appetizer. We brushed it off... Took stacy 30mins to bring 2 waters and a coke.. empty water cups for 30 minutes.. and after ordering appetizers macaroni cheese and broccoli we didn't see her again for another 45mins to take our ACTUAL ORDER. she only served us 2 rounds of water and the bread. The entire rest of the night other ppl were serving us. Not sure how to even feel motivated to tip when we barley even interacted w our waitress. Finslly upon payment we had to wait over 20mins for out change to be brought back and that was annoying as hell when you have a 3yr old that wants to GO. The service was so slow and just weird. They make youbfeel like you're ordering too much and then try and rush u to order it all at once and if I don't want too I shouldn't have too but also I shouldn't have to wait 45 more mins to order a steak meal. I dont know it all was weird and the employees don't give off the professionalism that the restaurant portrays. We dontnlike 6 different servers we don't like having to order entrees over an hour into service and there should be no reason why bussers dont come around and clear tables and if thats the waitress or waiters job to do that then they need to be reminded because nobody likes eating around finished plates and empty cups. Lastly the worst thing this evening was that all 3 other tabels she had across from our booth she had an entire speech talking about food and favorites and flipping through menus w everyone and just my boyfriend and I and our 3 yr old were there and she explained nothing and didn't give the same speech on most liked food deals lalala. . Felt demeaning. I even told her it was our first time. I dont know. I just expected more. Oh and when walking in a host was talking crap to a customer about the waiter they were about to have she was like well he's not bad he's just new so yanno i dont know it is what it is. And I don't believe that was the correct response either. Everyone should hype everyone up. Noticed alot ofnyoung in front working and maybe thats the...
Read moreUpdate: waited until October to update hoping manager or someone would comment and reach out. And nothing! This establishment has gone downhill and their service and management is awful. We tried to call and left messages for manager to call us and never got calls back! We will NEVER return to this Resturant! We are so saddened to see such a great place ruined by horrible staff!
We came in tonight for our Anniversary dinner and the wait to be seated wasn’t bad maybe 10-15 min. Once we were seated our server got to us pretty quick and asked us if we were celebrating anything special and we happily told him it was our 17th wedding anniversary, he congratulated us and said he would bring us a desert on the house at the end of our meal celebrate! We said thank you! We ordered our food, drinks and appetizer. Our appetizer was cold (supposed to be stuffed mushrooms) then It took about 1.5 for our main entree to come out. It was a long time! We were given a loaf of moldy bread that server took back and apologized for, and then my husbands silverware was dirty in the napkin, the server even apologized and said it was so dirty it still had chunks and tried to laugh it off. Now we are 2 hours in and he asked what we wanted for dessert which remember he offered on the house in the beginning of our meal, so we chose the cheesecake! It was ok. Well guess what! It was on the bill!!!! We wouldn’t have ordered it if he hadn’t offered it to us in the beginning, wow, Never again! So we paid our check and left! But it will be the last time we ever return! It’s sad this used to be such a nice Restaurant, but the staff and management are just awful now. At one point we had two staff members complaining and talking/cussing about other staff members and their unfair treatment and I could go on and on. I’m not sure they cared customers could hear what they had to say about other staff members or management. Absolutely unpleasant and unprofessional. Im mad that We paid for childcare so we could enjoy an amazing dinner and this is what we got instead! I would suggest finding another location if your wanting to celebrate something like a birthday or...
