Worst experience ever at a panera! Ordered online, went in to pick it up. Double-checked it before I left to make sure as I was driving 3.5 hours away. There was something that seemed to be incorrect, so I tried to question it and understand if I Miss placed it online. As I'm asking the takeout young lady, the manager (Courtney) rudely jumps into the conversation and says she will remake it. Okay, no problem, but I was just wanting, i understand still. So I see a gentleman manager sitting to the side, and I figured I would politely ask him while I waited. He acknowledged me and answered my question. I thanked him and asked if I needed something remade, and I let him know they were already doing so. As I was standing to the side waiting. Courtney, the manager, came walking up quickly, saying how I'm getting a refund, and if I kept making a scene, she was going to call the cops. I was so confused as to how things escalated. I asked where I was being rude and causing a scene. She proceeded to threaten me with a cop being called. I just stood there baffled. I'm waiting around for my refund receipt as she literally went and called the cops on me. With my family to my side, here came 2 cops walking in, basically telling me I'm not welcomed back because she felt I was causing a sense. When I was trying to wait for my order and understand my perhaps mistake.
Moral of this experience when you order online and you double check it and question. Becareful. You may get 86d and embarrassed in front of your family and the inter establishment. #CourtneyistheirGM worst GM I have ever met. That's not how you run an...
Read moreI’m sad to leave a 1 star review for this Panera, but I’ve been extremely disappointed in their inconsistency of quality with their food, and more lately it’s just been consistently mediocre/lackluster and not worth the price you pay for it.
I always get the deal for a half sandwich (Bacon turkey bravo w/ sourdough) and soup (broccoli cheddar) and the first couple times I got it here it was great! I was so obsessed I was going there weekly for it. Then the quality began to slowly go down. The last around 4 times I’ve tried the soup tastes like it’s bottom of the batch or old, as it has a weird texture, and the flavor and smell is way off. The ratios have been weird on the sandwich which has a ton of the emerald greens, and little to NONE of the "signature sauce" that’s supposed to come on the sandwich which in my opinion is what makes it special/stand out from any other typical sandwich and delicious, but also makes it incredibly dry and difficult to swallow because of that. I’ve noticed the super lack of sauce the last couple times, so the most recent time I went I asked for a little extra of the signature sauce on the side just incase it happened again, and not only did they not provide that, the sandwich again as pictured had a really poor amount of sauce, barely existent and not even enough to taste it at all.
It’s sucks because this is the closest location to us and the other is quite a drive, but unless they can start bringing the quality and care back into what they’re serving, we...
Read morePanera Bread is a pretty mediocre experience. The menu is fairly broad, but it's a bit of a hit or miss with what you order. The sandwiches tend to be heavy on the bread and a tad light on the fillings. Similarly, if you're hoping for a hearty salad, set your expectations a bit lower. They often come across as more garnish than meal. The soup, while decent, won’t have you singing praises either.
Ambiance-wise, the Surprise location boasts a good-sized space, which could have been a plus if it were better maintained. On my visit, cleanliness seemed to take a backseat. Unserved tables were a common sight, and food debris scattered not only in the dining area but also alarmingly near the kitchen, made for an unsightly view.
I do like the self-service order system, which is efficient and the pictures make for a user-friendly menu navigation experience. It streamlines the ordering process, particularly during peak hours.
Price point is where I find a bit of contention. Given the quality of the food, it does feel overpriced. For similar rates, I'd much rather recommend the local Wildflower Bread Company chain. If you happen to be in Arizona, it's a treat not to miss. Their offerings are not only generous but also burst with flavors, making the dining experience truly worthwhile.
In conclusion, Panera in Surprise, AZ is alright for a quick bite, especially if you're on the go. But if you're in the mood for something more delightful without denting your pocket, there are better local...
