The Sutter Restaurant — Restaurant in Sutter Creek

Came to celebrate a birthday with a party of 8 on a Saturday evening. We made reservations ahead of time, which was good as I don't recall any empty tables. We got squished onto two tables put together so no elbow room. Plus two people were seated at the split so their plates wobbled a bit. The interior was a bit loud and made it challenging to hear others from our party across the table. Food was good, portions were large. We started with a couple of pretzels which were good. I had the Asiago Gnocchi for dinner which was delicious. Drinks were good. I recommend the Spiked Lavender Lemonade. Service was spot on even though they were busy. Andrew was great. They did have a kids menu which included chicken strips and fries and a couple of juice selections. We had the worst service I ever had in my life. Took over an hour to get our food. How can it take that long to make some burgers and a salad?? When we finally got our food it was the worst, tasteless burger I ever had. We asked for salt and pepper— that never came . Then I told everyone: “I bet the bill will come fast though” and guess what—it was even faster than light speed. It was almost like they were waiting around the corner with the bill as soon as we asked for it. It was $91 for four lousy burgers and sodas. Avoid this place like the plague. While traveling for business, someone suggested that we try Sutter Restaurant in the Sutter Creek Hotel. We sure are glad we did!

Beautiful 1800's hotel in the amazing historic town of Sutter Creek. If you are there for any reason this is the place you dont want to miss!
