Beto's Tacos is located on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in Suwanee, GA. Although it hasn't been open too long. It's already becoming a favorite spot among the locals for authentic Mexican food.

They offer authentic street tacos at a low price. This separates them from the Tex-Mex franchise style "Mexican" restaurants that claim to have good food but over charge typically for simple dishes.

Beto's interior is decorated to give it an almost franchise type look, which for the most part it is franchise based as there are other locations, the only difference is that their food for the most part keeps intact its authentic roots.

The menu is mostly just tacos, burritos, tortas, nachos, salads, soups, etc. Their go-to items, at least for me are the street tacos which sale for $1.90 a piece. That isn't bad compared to some other places who charge up $3 plus for tacos that don't even taste that great.

I've had the Carne Asada and El Pastor tacos. Each tasted pretty good. The meat had flavor. It's wasn't burnt or too dry. They don't skim out on the portions, they actually put a lot more than I would like as sometimes the meats overflows out of the tortilla wrap, which are double layered by the way. This isn't a bad thing, you get a lot of food for under $2.

By the way there is a salsa bar, you can go to to get all the sauces you need for your meal.

The service here is decent. The orders can take awhile if they are busy. The make up for it by giving you a token for free tacos if the order takes way too long. So at least they make up for any inconveniences.

Overall, this isn't the best authentic Mexican restaurant I've been too by a long shot, but it's the best options in the burbs which is where it's located. you can tell a lot of the locals probably only been to On the Border or Frontera and haven't actually had authentic Mexican street tacos or other dishes like tortas. Discovering Beto's Tacos was an unexpected delight during our visit to Suwanee, Georgia. Initially planning to dine at Two Cities Pizza, we stumbled upon this hidden gem when our original choice was closed for lunch. And oh, what a fortunate turn of events it was!

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the staff and promptly seated. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a satisfying meal. As we perused the menu, we couldn't resist starting with their famous queso and chips. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The creamy queso paired perfectly with the crispiness of the chips, leaving us craving more with every bite.

For our main course, we opted for the vegetarian enchiladas, accompanied by rice and beans. Let me just say, even for non-vegetarians like ourselves, this dish was an absolute winner. Have to give a very honest review. Young male cashier was amicable and patient. Restaurant was absolutely packed, they have a loyal following. The portions were relatively generous.

However — salsa was bland and watery. Street tacos were good but tasted like the corn tortilla was microwaved and the ingredients on top cooked on stovetop. Best thing I ate besides the corn tortilla.

The queso was bland and not cheesy, usually has this taste when watered down but was the right consistency. The vegetarian cheese enchiladas were not melted cheese just shredded, it was ok, but still had a bland and starchy taste. The sour cream had more taste than anything on the dish.

I ordered one more item which initially should’ve ordered to go. When I asked if they could possibly bring it out in a box she turned around 45 seconds after asking and to serve it saying ‘too late’. I asked if I could have a box for the salad and she brought the second smallest box they had. Fortunately needed it for enchilada leftovers so asked another expo for a ‘regular sized to go box’ and he reached for the tiny size again 🤯 Younger expo gets an exception as he didn’t know it was for a full salad.
