Let me just start off by saying I am never the one to go out of my way to bash a business because I know it can seriously hurt the business as a whole, but I feel like I need to tell my experience at this establishment since it was less than pleasing. My boyfriend and I used to come to Roll and Pho regularly because we love their half off sushi and might I add we always tip generously ( I used to serve myself so I always tip great ). However the last two times I came to eat here was absolutely terrible. First bad experience: I was enjoying eating my Pho and stopped to have a conversation with my boyfriend when one of the ladies who works there walked over to my table and proceeded to take my bowl away from the table without asking if I was finished. I told her I wasn't done yet. She left. So as I'm eating my Pho still, but occasionally stopping to talk to my boyfriend ( I am a slow eater BTW) the SAME LADY once again came over to my table and took my bowl from me again without asking me if I was done with it or not. The bowl was still about half full and looked far from being finished. This time I just let her take it and didnt say anything. It was around closing time and I know she did this so she could get out of there but still, it did not give her the right to do what she did.Fast forward to my very next experience coming there: a guy was our waiter this time.. or so we thought. He greeted us, sat us, took our order (after about 15 minutes of waiting to order) and we never saw him again after that. I ordered an appetizer and did not get my appetizer until AFTER all of the food came out, not once did anyone acknowledge the fact that I received my appetizer way after my food, let alone apologize for the wait. Not only that, we asked for refills on water about 2-3 times and NO ONE came to refill our drinks not once. We sat there with the same empty cups of water the entire time we were there. We asked for extra napkins.. never came. Fast forward..its time to pay. I stopped one of the ladies to ask for a check, she quickly brushes me off and said she'll be back with a check...ten minutes go by...no check! By then I am so frustrated and ready to leave. I go up to counter to pay and the lady told me to have a seat, that someone would bring my check to me. I proceeded to tell her I've waited long enough for a check and I was ready to pay now. I pay with a credit card but crossed out the tip line and signed the paper. I promise you I don't know any other language but English but what came out the ladies mouth next I didn't need a translator to understand. So she yells out to one of the ladies in her language ( I'm almost positive it was to tell her to check the table because I did not leave a tip on the card) because as my boyfriend and I are heading toward the door, the lady she yelled out to, runs (and I'm not kidding, she full blown sprinted) to our table and checks the table for cash. She then stops us before we walk out the door and told us "tip was not included in the bill" (Her exact words). We told her we know the tip isn't included to which the lady said "when you get service you need to tip" (her exact words again). This is when I ran the list down of the service we DID NOT get. They took our order, gave us our food and that was it! No refills, no checking on us to see if we were ok, nothing! She wasn't even our server to begin with so I dont see why she even felt the need to say anything to us. We go back and forth for another 2 minutes explaining to her why we felt the need not to tip when she got so frustrated she yelled at us to get out of her restaurant and to never come back. DONT WORRY WE WONT! This place has good food but TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE! You do nothing but expect a tip?? Well If I would have gotten at least decent service I would have tipped. As stated earlier, I'v worked in the restaurant industry for many many years and I know how it feels to get jipped out of a tip when you give excellent service. But in this case the tip reflected the service perfectly. NO...
Read moreThis is my first time eating here and this place has potential. Unfortunately I left disappointed. I was in the mood for some pho and saw their sign “Roll & Pho” and thought I’d give it a try. The positives: very clean, friendly staff with quick service, and affordable sushi rolls. The negatives: The pho was just ok. It’s clear it’s not authentic Vietnamese pho as this is a sushi restaurant so I should’ve known better but I was hopeful since the name of the restaurant has the word “pho” in it. It’s not the worst pho I’ve had but it’s not one I’d get again. It just doesn’t compete with the flavor of authentic pho restaurants especially when they did not have any chili oil which is the only way I eat pho. Second negative was my sushi roll. I got the shrimp masago roll and it was a pitiful sized roll and nothing like the pictures on their menu. The shrimp was so small you couldn’t even taste it and only tasted the eel sauce and fried tempura batter. Although the rolls are all advertised as half off, I would’ve preferred paying more money for a better quality roll with more filling. You can even see in the picture that the shrimp is not deveined. I love shrimp and when you order a roll that only has shrimp, it should be a high quality piece of shrimp that’s deveined. I saw other tables with other rolls and their rolls looked big with lots in the filling and on top so it’s prob not all their rolls. I just would never recommend the shrimp masago roll. I gave 4 stars because I don’t want to hurt a small business who’s just trying to survive. But I’m hoping this review will give them the opportunity to improve things because if I felt this way I’m sure others did as well. Would I come back to this place? Yes I would but I just know now that when they advertise half off rolls you will get half off quality rolls in...
Read moreThis place was horrible. I work nearby and we were looking for a new place to go on our lunch break. It was also my birthday and my coworkers wanted to treat me to lunch
We tried this place and it was a mistake.
The food was bad - we all got hibachi chicken and fried rice. The chicken was the worst part. It was grey, gummy, poorly cooked, had little to no flavor. We were honestly scared to eat it for fear we would get sick.
The rice was flavorless but was at least safe to eat.
The broth soup tasted like spoiled fishy beef and was cloudy and separating. I would stir it, take a sip and it would start to separate again showing some clear brown broth and some grey cloudy stuff. It was odd and highly unappealing.
The service was emotionless and they could not communicate with the patrons. They were also very slow and never checked on us. It was order food, deliver food, deliver check. No experience there at all and it was taking quite a bit of time.
There are a number of businesses here and we have an hour to get there, eat and get back. Service certainly needs to be speedier.
And the cost for all this.... $12 for the rotten chicken and no-flavor rice, 2 bucks for a can of coke - really a $14 lunch? per person?...and for something as horrible as this!
You can seriously skip this place, go a few blocks to Sugarloaf Mills and eat at the hibachi place in the food court and get a better meal for about $6 bucks.
This place is horrible and I will highly recommend people stay away from here - seriously, it's for your own safety that you...
