My girlfriend and I tried out 121 for the first time a couple days ago upon recommendation from her co workers at Starbucks.
There is a fair amount of seating inside. The interior is clean, welcoming, and comfortable.
I ordered three rolls: Eel, Philadelphia, and Salmon Avocado. My girlfriend ordered the Philadelphia and Golden California.
This sushi, prepared by chef/owner Ji Young Lee, was absolutely incredible. It was fresh, beautifully presented, and after we were served our food she came to greet us at the table.
What excellent customer service to be greeted by the person who not only owns the restaurant but made your food as well.
I am happy to see the sticker “Best of Gwinnett 2018” in the window because THIS will be the restaurant I always go to when I want sushi or a sushi bowl.
I cannot wait to try more things on the menu. I wish you nothing but amazing business and good luck!
Update (1/11/2020)
Now known as Kitchen 121.. my family continues to receive the best sushi in town paired with the best customer service. Dining in. Taking out. It is always a pleasure to stop by.
We did try the chicken. Both flavors! They’re delicious. A crunch I wasn’t expecting but was happily surprised by. Above par out of your usual fried chickens.
I urge those questioning if they should come here to give it a try. You won’t regret it.
Thank you for your continuous contribution to the community. We appreciate you!

Chef Ji, you continue to bring amazing food to the community of Duluth.
It’s by far the best sushi I have ever had. It’s so fresh. I feel like I can taste the love and care you put into this food. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu at this point and not a single thing has been disappointing.
This is THE place to get sushi, chicken, appetizers, dumplings, sushi bowls, noodles, salads.
I live in North Carolina now and make a point to stop by every time I come to Atlanta. It is just as good as the first day I tried it.....
Read moreI want to take a moment to highlight the hard work and dedication of Brian, who works as a dishwasher at Kitchen 121. Often, dishwashers are the unsung heroes of a restaurant, but Brian truly stands out and deserves recognition.
From the moment he clocks in, Brian brings an incredible work ethic and positive energy to the team. Dishwashing might not be the most glamorous role, but anyone who’s worked in a restaurant knows it’s one of the most important — and Brian takes it seriously. Plates, glassware, and silverware always come back spotless and organized, which makes the flow of service smooth for both the kitchen and the servers.
What impresses me most is how consistent Brian is. Even during peak hours when the kitchen is slammed, he never falls behind. He works quickly but with attention to detail, ensuring that everything that comes out of his station is up to the highest standard. He doesn’t just clean — he takes ownership of his workspace, keeping everything sanitized and orderly, which helps the whole team stay efficient and safe.
On top of his strong work ethic, Brian brings a great attitude. He’s respectful, reliable, and approachable, always willing to help out wherever he can. If someone needs an extra hand, he’s there without hesitation. That kind of teamwork sets the tone for the entire restaurant.
Kitchen 121 is lucky to have someone like Brian. His effort may happen behind the scenes, but it makes a huge difference for the entire dining experience. Every smooth service is a reflection of the support he provides.
If you’re dining at Kitchen 121, just know that part of what makes your experience seamless is thanks to hardworking people like Brian in the back of house. He’s proof that excellence doesn’t only come from what’s seen on the plate — it also comes from the dedication of the people making sure everything runs...
Read moreWe came in to grab a quick bite on Friday early evening around 530 pm. It’s a small but cute place. You can pick up menus at the counter, pick your seat and then go back to the counter to order when ready. They have a station with a water dispenser with cups and utensils. I really liked this because it gives a nice casual vibe, but a step above a fast food place with individually paper wrapped metal utensils and nice quality chopsticks (vs the cheap break apart wood ones). It also had bottles of sauces so you could grab what you wanted for your table. We ordered the Bulgogi Hot Bowl, the Crunch Fried Chicken, Stir Fried Bacon Udon and Spicy Tuna Roll. My 6 year old was with us and they do offer kids meals but we opted to order her the stir fried bacon udon and I could not stop eating it. We were really pleased with all of the food, but hers was my favorite for sure. The noodles were thick and chewy in a good way and packed with flavor. She did not care for the egg so we took that off before I could grab a pick, but had it been me I would’ve definitely enjoyed that runny yolk with it. It was my first time trying Korean fried chicken and it was quite yummy. Not heavily seasoned, but a nice lightly flavored breading and extremely juicy chicken. The Bulgogi was also very good and flavorful. You can’t go wrong getting Bulgogi in my opinion. Spicy tuna roll was standard as to what you would expect. We were very happy with the service. The guys at the counter were very welcoming and when we left one of the ladies grabbed a pack of chocolate pocky sticks for my 6 year old which was very nice and made my daughter feel so special. We really liked this place and thought the prices were also very reasonable for the quality and portions. We will...
