Very disappointed in our experience here today. My wife and I walked in and nobody greeted us, and there were no signs telling us if we should wait to be seated. Another customer walked in behind us and left because he also wasn’t sure how to order. We eventually realized we had to go to the counter to order- again, nobody noticed us standing confused or offered any assistance. They were out of the tea that I was going to order. We eventually sat down at a table after ordering. The water pitcher was half empty so we had to swap it with a full one at a nearby table (that had someone sitting at the other end of the long table). There were also no forks or napkins so again, we had to go to the other table again to take clean utensils. Only one water glass at our table. Clearly the staff did not put in much effort into cleaning and resetting the table.
The food took longer than expected to be prepared- about a half hour or so, which is the least of our complaints. Once we got the food, it was half cold. My tomato pie was very soggy. Some of my spring mix was wilted and my wife, who is not very picky, said her burger was chewy and flavorless. Her burger was also not very warm. Definitely not worth the price. No staff ever interacted with us besides when they rung up our order.
While we were eating, several tables near us still had plates that were not cleared off. It took us 20-30 minutes to eat and the trash was all still sitting on nearby tables. If they are that short staffed, maybe they need a solution like Panera where customers clear their own plates.
I hope management reads this and attempts to fix some of these disappointing errors. The ambiance was nice but we wished we would have left when our initial impression was not good. The staff seemed to hide behind the coffee bar even when no customers were in line instead of cleaning tables or interacting with customers. I have left mostly 5 star reviews about restaurants in the past and try to focus on the positive, but this experience was too disappointing...
Read moreFood was OK; prices were good. A somewhat similar vibe to a Panera and lower prices. Decent menu including GF items. I didn't particularly care for the soup I had but that might be a matter of taste; sandwich was OK but somewhat sloppily put together.
Service was abysmal. It was mid-day on a Sunday and perhaps they were under-staffed, but one waitress snapped at a seated customer when she asked for water (tables are given a glass bottle and individual glasses). Our table was likewise waiting for water while there were bottles on empty tables; with nobody nearby to ask I finally went and got the tray with a bottle and glasses and moved it to our table. A few minutes later, that same waitress snapped at ME for apparently upsetting the configuration of the serving trays. I didn't reply, but it seemed like an unfair and disproportionate response given the lack of service.
We continued to wait for the food to arrive. When we got it, my wife and daughter were served and the (different) waitress asked "if there was anything else?" Uh, hello -- you've got one more patron here to be served. A few minutes later my order arrived.
My wife had ordered pancakes and ran out of syrup halfway through. Twice she called to passing staff to ask for more and was ignored. She asked more aggressively the third time and put in her request. We never received it and eventually left.
You pay in advance when you order, and can include a tip at the time. I regretted having tipped in advance, and certainly wasn't leaving an additional tip on the table.
A minor detail, but it was a rather long line for us to place our order in the first place, as they had only one person taking orders. Several people ahead of us left before ordering, presumably because of the excessive wait. Presumably they could make this more efficient during peak times.
Perhaps just a bad day for them, but there are other options in the area and I'll likely look into one of those the next time I'm...
Read moreI’m actually currently sitting in The Table as I write this review and I just wanted to express my unending gratitude to this establishment. I have been coming here on and off for years and I decided to come by myself today to enjoy a breakfast bowl and a latte, something I normally don’t do by myself. Going places alone is a heavy burden when it comes to my Autism. As I looked around for a table, I noticed my usual “spot” had no vacancy so I sat at the 4 top next to it. Now, I know, one person at a 4 top is frowned upon but I planned to not idle and leave as soon as I could so it could be enjoyed properly. A large group came up the stairs and initially I offered to move over to the 2 top that was available to my right. They said no, they’d need all the tables in that row. So I said okay, and began to look for another spot to sit. Then they asked if they could just sit with me which, as an individual with autism, I wasn’t okay with that. I expressed to them my discomfort and showed I had earbuds in as a means to keep myself comfortable. I offered again to move and one of the amazing workers said “No, you sit and enjoy your food. They can wait.” I was grateful so I continued eating. Then, someone I’m assuming is the manager came up and apologized to me, I expressed it was okay and as a regular, I was not upset whatsoever. She reassure me I was fine and here I sit, finishing my breakfast. Thank you, you individuals do not know outrightly that I have autism and a lot of issues being in public by myself. But I will stay a customer for life because of how this was handled. Much love to everyone who works here and a massive thank you for reassuring and allowing me to be comfortable in this space I...
