My wife and I love cajun boils and getting our hands dirty when it comes to eating! I don't know about how many places offer food like this around here, but I can say that this place is unique since we can't find others like it. They offer a variety of seafood options like crab legs, mussels, clams, blue crab, dungeness crab, shrimp with and without the head, add-ons like rice, potatoes, corn on the cob, sausage, sweet potato fries, cajun fries. There are a lot of things that will fit anyone's taste!
Pricing: The pricing for the shrimp and sides are fair with the other seafood items being on the pricier side. Given that the geography of Harrisburg is, I don't expect it to be a big hub of seafood like you could expect on the coasts, so it's reasonable getting product might be a little harder, and thus, the prices are a little higher. Food: With the bit of customization you have control over such as the type of sauce, spiciness, sides, you can really make it your own if you wish. My wife ordered the shrimp w/ head on with medium Krab's special sauce with sausage, corn, and a potato while I ordered the shrimp w/o the head with mild Krab's special sauce with potato and corn. Our shrimps were cooked pretty well, and the medium sauce was not at all spicy. Our potatoes were hit and miss if they were cooked enough, and the corn didn't have a nice crunch to it; the kernels were rather soft and soggy. Service: We've only ever ordered takeout due to the pandemic, but whenever we pick up the food, the staff is always really kind and quick to let us pick up our orders. Overall: My wife and I enjoy eating their food, and food like it. I'm not inclined to get their potatoes and corn again, as much as I enjoy those two as food items in cajun boil. I would just say order the seafood you wish to eat, and you can always make the potatoes, corn, or even rice at home to eat it with yourself. You can always ask for more sauce (for an extra charge) to use for dipping or adding your own sides to it to save money and cook it just...
Read moreMy sons took me here for my birthday. It was where I wanted to go. There’s another similar restaurant in the area that serves up the same type of entrées and I’ve been there but I want to try this place out ratings look good upon going in the place is a little dated looking. I feel like it could be refreshed look a little nicer, not saying upscale per se, but just nicer. I feel it could be a nicer experience for the money that you’re paying for these boils two of us in the party got the two lobster tails and pound of shrimp boil bag that came with the broccoli potatoes, corn, and we went with the Hause sauce, which was a combination of the garlic butter and lemon and it was absolutely delicious. I was very satisfied. A lot of tails were nice size. I wasn’t sure if they were gonna give you little ones or not and the shrimp was overwhelming. I swear they gave you more than a pound in conjunction with all the other stuff that was in the bag. I struggled to finish it all, but I did service was a little slow to get started but once the waitress and I think she was there by herself, so it’s probably the reason why I was a little delayed, but once she got to us and got orders in, she was definitely very attentive and came around often enough if you’re looking for a good seafood boil I definitely recommend this place. It’s delicious like I said just now coming in. It’s it’s nothing fancy they give you bibs for a reason and I’m glad I was wearing mine as well as a...
Read moreFood and service was good. But I want to talk about the up charges we received after my wife and I ordered our food and ate it. According to the menu provided to us, we ordered 1 Pepsi ($2.50), Hush Puppies ($5.00), Soft Shell Crabs ($15.00) and 1lb No Head Shrimp/1 Lobster Tail ($34.00); Total for all ($56.50 + $3.39 = $59.89). When I received the bill, the prices were different from the menu: 1 Pepsi ($2.58), Hush Puppies ($5.15), Soft Shell Crabs ($15.45) and 1lb No Head Shrimp/1 Lobster Tail ($35.02); Total for all ($58.20 + $3.49 = $61.69). I got a menu and showed the server, Sosthi, that the charges were incorrect. Her explanation to me was the machine automatically does that for cash and credit. I wasn’t going to argue with her about it. Nowhere on the menu does it state you will be charged more for using a credit card. Having a credit card machine is a benefit to the merchant, not a punishment to the guest for using a credit card. I was going to give the server an 18% tip on the correct amount ($56.50 x %18 = $10.00). But since I was punished for using a credit card, I deducted the $1.80 up charge from the tip. My tip was now only 14% for $8.20. My opinion is, if you’re going to hit me with up charges for using my credit card, it’s your servers that are going to take the...
