My husband and I have been eating at this place for at least 25 years as well as purchasing takeout, especially during the pandemic we continued to buy from them. Tonight, my daughter, who has visited this place since she was about 5 years old, placed a phone order for pickup for 7 meals. These were picked up and taken home. A while later, when we started opening the containers, there were 2 meals missing. She called to explain and advise that she would come back to pick these up. She was treated in an unprofessional manner, and they questioned her. We all counted, and the meals were missing. She asked several times if they were going to help her, and she continued to receive no specific conclusion. I accompanied her to the establishment, and upon arrival, we were treated very rudely and again, indicating that we did not count correctly and all meals were provided. At this time, I stepped in and spoke to this employee Arturo, who knows me well and knows me from the number of years we patronized this place. I had to remind them of the years we had been customers and if they thought we would go back for two meals. We were treated in a disrespectful and unprofessional manner. This place has been in decline for years and normally has very few patrons. Now I understand why. Based on the way my daughter and I were treated we will never go back. I have marked one star because there is no lower rating available. We were offended...
Read moreI was worried by a couple 1 star reviews. Quickly saw I had nothing to worry about. The very attentive waiter brought a fried eggplant stick with cheese and marinara. It was delicious and fresh. We ordered lasagna, veal parmigiana with alfredo pasta and spinach catalonie. I highly recommend the lasgsanga!! It was the best I have ever had including my own lol The layers were thick with beef and cheeses. Most places are mainly noodle but this was not. My Italian husband enjoyed his veal and my lasgsanga. He didn't think it was too much breading as one reviewer stated. He is use to authentic Italian food and found the alfredo fine. It is a butter cream alfredo you can taste the butter and it's fresh. I prefer a bit more seasoning more parmesan and pepper. Pasta was perfectly cooked. Garlic bread was delicious and not at all like Cuban bread as one reviewer said. The spinach dish was flavorful too. We had cappuccino and tiramisu. I was impressed with both. If you do not like cinnamon on your cappuccino let them know when ordering. They add that and chocolate on top of the foam. I found the restaurant to be clean and I closely looked before ordering. We went in thinking if we get an appetizer and it's not good we will just leave. I was sold with marinara and the...
Read moreThe 4-5 star reviews are confusing. I don't think any of the 4-5 star reviewers actually ate at the same restaurant that my wife and I did. Two tables of people were seated when we got there so the place wasn't busy. The waitress at the front was setting up a table and looked up at us. She then proceeded back to setting up the table and went on to set up another table. With multiple tables already set up this made my wife and I think the place was self seat. Well it's not because the table setting waitress told us "no, no, no, no" and then yelled for Antonio to make sure it was ok that we could sit at one of the many open and set up tables. From then on the service went the same. Just ask them for a pitcher of water because you will only be getting one glass full for appetizers, main course, and dessert. Ordered fried calamari for appetizer. It was ok, but it kinda tasted microwaved. Our main courses were definitely microwaved. The meat is extremely processed and salty. The pasta is heavy and mushy. If you want to know how the food is going to taste here, go to your local Walmart's frozen food section. Pick up some healthy choice or Marie Calendar Italian frozen meals. Place them in the microwave and voila you would have eaten at La Nonna...
