Prices listed includes tax. Love it! Great subs đ Triangle Bar fed me during the pandemic years đ
The Triangle Bar in Swissvale has been a Pittsburgh staple since 1934, famous for its no-nonsense drinks and legendary hoagies. Their claim to fame is the Battleship, a monster sandwich stretching over two feet long, with the even bigger Super Battleship for those bold enough to take it on. đ„ Every loaf comes fresh from their own bakery, turning out hundreds daily just to keep up with demand.
Over the years, the Triangle has built a reputation that stretches far beyond Swissvale. Theyâve served everyone from Prince Charles of Wales, who marveled at their âBattleships and Destroyersâ in 1988, to local legends like Dan Marino, Rob Gronkowski, and comedian Billy Gardell. Their hoagies have even landed them on Thrillistâs list of the 33 Best Sandwich Shops in America.
With nearly a century of history, Triangle isnât just a bar â itâs a Pittsburgh institution. đș From community celebrations like their 90th anniversary to countless late-night memories, itâs a place where fresh bread, giant hoagies, and local pride come together...
Read moreBeen meaning to try this place for years and wish I hadnât. Having worked in the service industry for years, I donât usually make a point to make a negative review, but JESUS. I got a battleship Italian and it was sincerely the worst Italian hoagie Iâve ever had. Apparently their Italian hoagie is two layers of bologna and one layer of ham and thatâs it LOL. Iâm from Pittsburgh and understand a lot of places around here put bologna on an Italian. I donât like it or agree with it but I usually just take it off and itâs no biggie. these guys make it the whole sandwich i guess. No cap, no salami, no pepperoni, nothing. Worst sandwich Iâve ever purchased, not even exaggerating. I would have preferred to have spent $22 at subway and i despise subway. $22 for a long bunch of bologna and a tiny bit of ham is a scam. Must be making money hand over fist with this business model. Iâd wager you guys would be out of business if you didnât have a gimmick like long sandwiches. Literally the worst sandwich Iâve ever purchased and I count Wendyâs as one of my favorite...
Read moreI was recommended Triangle bar and grill by a friend of mine that lives in the Pittsburgh area. Last week while in the area for work I was finally able to check it out. I was blown away at how good the subs were. I had the cheesesteak and my buddy had the Italian. The vegetables and bread were fresh and the steak had a great flavor.
There is plenty of parking on the street and there are restrooms available. The location has about 10-12 bar seats and a few small tables.
Also note: Triangle bar and grill only accepts cash.
While the food is five stars for me. My only complaint was the service. As someone who had never visited the location, I was a bit confused where to order my food and pay for it. This is not marked and nobody actually greeted us as we entered. Iâm sure the locals know the procedures and I will know...
