I had the large Happy Sugar Bubble Tea. The tea was clearly the good stuff, not the powder, you really can taste the difference, and the boba was warm (which is a new experience for me, guess that means it’s fresh!) and had a good consistency, so the quality was nice.
My one quibble was relating to the ice levels. I’d forgot to specify that I’d like less ice, as I normally do when ordering bubble tea. Some shops ask you about ice and sweetness levels, some don’t, and I wasn’t asked. Because the service was so prompt, (the young woman who wasn’t ringing me up started making my drink before my receipt printed) I couldn’t correct my order, so I knew all the ice going into that cup was for me. Though the large is 22 oz, vs the normal 16, I felt like the ice cubes were a more on the unreasonably big size. I didn’t expect 22 full oz of drink, ice is part of the experience, and the amount of boba was generous, but I felt like there was way too much ice in there. Otherwise, I enjoyed my drink.
The quality was nice, the service was prompt, and the prices, though high, are generally in line with what good bubble tea costs nowadays. And this was good bubble tea. I will return, and I enjoyed my tea, though I’ll try to get a little less...
Read moreI tried to order their signature drink without boba as I really dislike the texture of most tapioca. The owner kindly asked if I wanted to sample it since they have a unique boba style. She scooped me some fresh and had me try it before continuing to make the drink as its part of the signature flavor. The brown sugar pearls are full of flavor and slightly smaller than most boba pearls I've had and the texture was soft and not too chewy. I fell in love with this boba and agreed it definitely needed to be in the drink. The staff added it in no questions asked. The roasted brown sugar drink is unique and sweet with a hint of roasted marshmallow flavor. I'd highly recommend Happy Sugar to anyone. The staff is kind and patient and the drinks are carefully handcrafted, not to mention the...
Read moreI went to Happy Sugar about 30 minutes before close. They were surprisingly busy for a Monday, but Ricky handled the crowd like a champ & did so with a smile. He was extremely hospitable & seemed very knowledgeable about everything they have to offer. This place is SO. CUTE. Everything is very “insta-worthy.” It was also very clean & well maintained with plenty of parking available in the spacious lot.
I am still pretty new to boba teas, but I will say the strawberry milk tea with strawberry popping bobas was very nice & refreshing. I also got a double cake from the display case & enjoyed that as a not-too-sweet treat. I spent less than $10 for both items & will absolutely be back to try...
