I have been going to Silver Spring House for over 20 years. It has consistently been great in all categories. The last couple years it has gotten even better, and the parking is dramatically better. For my drink I got the Fall Fashioned, which is pictured here. Very good drink. I need to buy some butterscotch schnapps so I can make it at home. For food we started with the Spicy Shrimp Cocktail. The shrimp was large and fresh - 6 of them - and the cocktail sauce was tasty. It wasn't too spicy for me. Also had a Basket of Saratoga Chips. These have been a must over my many visits there. Fresh, crunchy, and some of the best I've had. The two sides with my entree were the Chicken and Rice soup, and the Spring House Side Salad. The soup was good but it needed to be hotter - it was just warm. The salad was huge and awesome. It had fresh greens with almonds, dried cranberries, goat cheese, and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I was already getting full at that point! I got the Spring House Chicken - Quarter chicken white meat - with Cajun seasoning. Their specialty is still awesome! The chicken was tender, juicy, and the seasoning was tasty with the perfect amount of spice. My wife got the chicken pot pie special, so I had a few bites of it. Holy cow! It was huge! Their take on the classic was puff pastry rather than pie crust. The filling was so good! Creamy, fresh veggies, great pulled chicken, and seasoned perfectly. Even with me eating some, we still only ate half of it. It was an excellent dish. I wish I would have taken pics of the food but we were hungry so it started getting destroyed when it hit the table. I never did hesitate to go there, and plan to return - hopefully for another 20 years. Update 7-27-2025 Went for dinner on Fri night. Even though the weather is hot we sat outside. Either wait for a table inside or no wait for one outside. That ended up being a much better choice. We walked through the inside area to get to our table outside, and it was warmer and stuffier inside. With the big fans outside it was very comfortable. I got the half chicken dinner BBQ with a side salad and green beans. Nothing special about the salad but the bleu cheese dressing was good. It was very thick which is something I prefer in a BC dressing. The beans were a good side dish. The chicken was still the same as it's been every time I've had it - excellent. My wife got the same entree but she went with Cajun seasoning this time. Also a great dish. Update 10-28-2025 I went for a business lunch today and thoroughly enjoyed the Strawberry Cobb Salad special. It had grilled chicken over greens, strawberries, almonds, goat cheese, and a hard boiled egg (I ate that separately). It came with the poppy seed dressing. Another good meal at The Chicken Joint!

Let me start off by saying wish I would have eaten here sooner. Me and my wife had the impression this was just standard bar food but we got a recommendation from our neighbor while we are at the pool this morning to try it for lunch and so glad we did. I got the free range grilled chicken dinner and it was phenomenal. The price was great because it was actually like two meals in one. I had a left over chicken breast I took home with me. The roasted red mashed potatoes were also great. Atmosphere was incredible, felt like being in Florida. Our waitress was also top notch and very friendly. Free popcorn to snack on while you wait for the meal and the waitress left a drink pitcher with us so refills were no problem. The whole experience gets 5 stars from me and we will be back. Definitely more than standard bar food, this is a top notch place in the Cinci area.

The rustic charm of the restaurant's decor combined with modern touches created an inviting atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a delightful dining experience. The menu at Silver Spring House is a true testament to culinary excellence. With a diverse selection of dishes that cater to a wide range of tastes, I found myself spoilt for choice. From their delectable appetizers to their mouthwatering entrees, each dish was carefully crafted with a perfect blend of flavors and ingredients that showcased the chef's skill and creativity. I had the pleasure of trying their signature dish, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was a work of art. It was evident that only the finest and freshest ingredients were used, resulting in a meal that was both flavorful and satisfying.

Drove by your restaurant on Saturday November 1st-packed parking lot -Have lived in the metro area for 40 plus years and never heard of Silver Springs Chicken House. The next day Sunday November 2,2025 our family decided to try it . What a big mistake! We were seated in the large top booth straight ahead of the lobby as to enter the bar area. The sever did not come to greet us first approximately 8-10 minutes . She said hi and can I get your drink order which we did and she left quickly but we wanted to order appetizers. The drinks came out within 3-4 minutes and we asked if we could place an order for appetizers. We did and she asked if we also wanted to order our entrees and we did. We ordered the loaded potatoes with bacon and cheese. We got them in about 20 minutes . They were not hot tempature at all. Probally sat in the pick up window too long. 20 minutes after getting our cold appetizers we finnaly recieved our main entrees 40 minutes later. My husband ordered fish and chips , my son ordered fish tacos and I ordered bbq chicken and ribs with Mac and cheese. Our food was not very warm. Mine was leftover from the previous day you could tell. I am a pretty good cook and know when something is not prepared or sat too long or was leftover. Mine was 💯 percent. Of course our serve never came back to check on us until we were all pretty much done eating what we could and were ready to leave . My husband had to flag her down or we may have been forgotten completely. She did tell us that she was sorry but she had too many people to take care of . She needs to be retrained for sure. We are sorry to have this horrible review but you guys didn’t get where you are today with food and service like we had . We are fortunate that we can dine anywhere at any price .Thank you for getting our hopes up with a crowded parking lot only to dine in and see a whole different side to things. We aren’t sure if we may return . We aren’t asking for any reimbursement as we lost money to you and you made money on us! I did send an email earlier in this week possible Sunday but no response which I...

My husband and I have recently within the last 6 months starting eating at Silver Spring house . We come in at least once a week as we really enjoy the food. We eat out most evenings. We typically bring our Granddaugher with us and spend anywhere from 50.00 to 80.00. We went there last night, Thursday March 7, 2024 at around 10pm. . I go up to the hostess stand and ask for a booth. I prefer a booth as it tends to help with noise reduction. At that time of day there are only 2 available. The hostess a young girl with long brown hair in a ponytail wearing a blue shirt. Told me she would go check. She comes back and tells me no booths are avialable. She would give me a table. I agreed and followed her to our seat. We were seated near a very loud group, I was facing the booths. I look at the booths they are both taken by employees. One booth has two young ladies sitting sideways in the booth facing me. They are watching me. There are menus on the table no food or drinks. We sat there for a few minutes The noise was too much for my husband. I looked over at the booth both of the employees get up and return to work. My husband decided he didn't want to stay due to the noise. And to be honest I didn't want to stay due to the very obvious seating incident. To my thinking the hostess didn't want me to have the booth that I always ask for. I mean look at the evidence the ladies in the booth were sittng sideways watching me, no drinks, no food, menus on the table. (They work there they know what is on the menu so no real reason for menus) oh yes and they went back before we got our drinks, without ordering food or drink. Very obvious setup. I don't know this hostess. She has seated me several times. I did let her know that I wasn't happy as we were leaving. I was very dissatisfied with this visit. I wanted to order the Gumbo as everytime I do it's sold out and I wanted to try it. I also was looking forward to my baked half chicken. What a dissapointing visit. I am not sure if we will return again. Discrimination...
