I had a very disappointing experience at this Mexican restaurant. The staff, particularly the person in charge, had a terrible attitude and the business practices are misleading. They display a price on their menu, but when you place your order, they ask if you want certain toppings without ever mentioning that each one has an additional cost. They conveniently omit this information, and you only find out when the bill comes that your meal is double or even triple what you expected.
To make matters worse, when I questioned the price, the employee scolded me, lecturing me about the high cost of living in this country, as if trying to imply that I was being stingy. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I have no issue paying $100 for a dish as long as it’s sold to me honestly, without tricks or hidden fees. What I can’t tolerate is being taken for a fool.
Judging by other reviews, I’m not the only one who has experienced this. It’s a real shame for the restaurant because customers will visit once and never return, and certainly won’t recommend it to others. I hope they change their sales tactics to be more honest. If I order a basic dish because it seems affordable, the employee could have offered an upgrade for an additional cost, and I could decide whether I want to pay for it. Instead, they offer toppings that are supposed to be included with the dish without giving you the price, and then hit you with a hefty bill. This is not the way to do business.
As advise be careful about the prices. The price shown on the menu might be different from what appears on your bill. Make sure to ask about any price changes whenever they offer you something while you're placing...
Read moreOne of the best Freighthouse Square restaurants with a variety of Mexican dishes.
The food is good, portion sizes for the protein options are a little small but made up for by the big side dishes.
Staff was quick and helpful when ordering and during the meal. The drink options may be pricey but the free water was good consolation with how spicy the sauces are.
The place offers both a sectioned off bar area as well as having several tables in front inside of the Freighthouse proper, though it can get a bit loud at times. Regardless there's still that charm of the place.
A good value for some quick Mexican fare, definitely worth...
Read moreI was craving some tacos & came across this place while in the area. It’s located along the strip with several other restaurants. I ordered three street tacos with carne asada, they were quite delicious & the meat was seasoned nicely. As you can see from the photo, they were generous with the amount & it was great! I also ordered a medium chicken burrito to-go (not pictured) & that was pretty solid as well. The guy said their wet burrito is one of their popular dishes so I’ll definitely try that...
