Lucky Silver Tavern — Restaurant in Tacoma

Update The Lucky Silver just released a new menu and it looks delicious.

First and foremost, I love dive bars. The Lucky Silver is easy to miss, but you really don't want to miss it. This place is tucked away in between a glass shop and a diner, in Tacoma's Nalley Valley. I've been coming in for several years, but it had been some time since my last visit. We happened to pop in yesterday and were surprised to find it was under new ownership. We met the new owners, Leslie and Curtis as well as Davon, who was tending bar. Davon was attentive, friendly and quick to serve us. We noticed that the menu was smaller than in the past, but decided we needed to try the cheese burger. I'm so glad that we did. It was one of the best cheeseburgers I've had in a while. Since I’ve been to this dive bar several times over the last few months, it has easily been one of my favorite bars in Tacoma. The atmosphere has been cozy and usually allows conversations to flow with the person next to you without having to shout at each other to hear. I’ve never been disappointed with the food and drinks either, the new menu face-lift has more options than before, with the fried cheese curds, the Korean pork belly tacos, and the hot honey lemon pepper wings being my personal favorites. The staff and the owners are talented and genuine people, with Drew and Cody working wonders behind the bar while Deven is usually cooking up something great. Every once in a while, there’s live music or karaoke which have been fun to attend to. Oh Lucky Silver, how I love you ❤️ I came here to meet a friend once and got so much more. I got spectacular service, literally such amazing food (that mushroom burger though 🤤) , a safe and comfortable atmosphere where I wasn’t afraid to be myself, dared to take a MUSTARD SHOT 🤪 “oh Shawn” - this tavern is not typical for Tacoma.. it exceeds the expectations of what one might think from looking on the outside. I encourage you to come here, order food, a drink, stay for the energy and find yourself back again and again and again. Courtnee is always in when I’m there and she’s always keeping my water glass full and takes care of anyone who walks in the door.
