I had SUCH high hopes after my sister said she loved the vermicelli salad. My order consisted of Pad Thai with chicken, vermicelli salad with chicken, butter garlic chicken wings, and 2 Thai iced teas- one with tapioca, one without. The best thing was the Iced teas: sweet, creamy, good flavor. Unfortunately, we then move to the food. The order of butter garlic chicken was ridiculous. I’m assuming it’s normally an order of 6 wing pieces. It’s $10 for an order, and four of the six pieces were, and I kid you not, the size of chicken nuggets. And SMALL chicken nuggets at that! The flavor was pretty good. Had they not had little pieces of bone in them, I would swear they were nuggets! The vermicelli salad: I was expecting more, after my sister’s review of it, but it was just ok. I would have appreciated the chicken being cut up smaller.(My order was take out, and I wasn’t in a place that I had cutlery to cut it in more manageable pieces.) More importantly, the dressing was blah, at best. I was expecting much more prominent, intense flavors. I had much better elsewhere. Pad Thai with chicken: there were two orders. My daughter had said she ordered from here before and it was dry, but she thought she’d give it another try. Both orders were SO INCREDIBLY DRY!! When trying to take a bite, it was so much so, that the majority of the noodles came out as a huge clump! The flavor was subpar. There was spice (we ordered spice levels of 2 & 3. WE had to figure out who’s was who’s, as they didn’t write anything on the boxes! The spice was the only “flavor” that we could taste. It was incredibly disappointing!!! $60…for subpar food. I try not to count a restaurant after just one visit…but I’d be hard pressed...
Read moreUpdate: portions have significantly decreased since my last review when I posted the photos. They also ignored my request to please include hot sauce, and utensils. Chili oil was not included this time. What I got today was not worth almost 20 bucks for one dish. Also the taste was quite bland, not as goodas it used to be. The spiciness level was also definitely not 3. I was still hungry after finishing the pad sew and I dont even eat a lot. Cheaper and better thai/viet places exist just a little more south, quite a disappointment today from where used to be one of my fav places.
My new fav eat out place in Tacoma! Thai and Vietnamese food are my favorite foods, and this place sells both! and to my surprise, both cuisines taste good. They also have a nice website with menu with photos and descriptions which is a huge plus for me because I am usually onthe go and have to order ahead of time and pick up to go. They also have a instagram page to see updates on different foods. I dont know why Ive never seen this place before, but I discovered it while picking up coffee at starbucks so I ordered pho, and it was so good that I came back the next day two days in a row, to try the pad sew. My only complaint is that I wish the portions were a little bigger esp for the price, but both were really good and I will definitely come again to try their other dishes. Even their chili oil was really good, relatively more flavorful lol. You cant buy happiness with money but you can...
Read moreWas fairly disappointed given all the great reviews. Ordered takeout tonight and had a few issues. First issue- ordered the red curry but received the panang curry. Not a deal breaker for me I enjoy both. However I ordered the curry 5/5 hot. Second issue- the curry I received wasn't spicy at all. Even my wife that usually orders a 1 spicy level could eat it and said it wasn't spicy for her. That's a deal breaker for me. When you want 5/5 spicy curry it should hurt some. That being said the third issue- the singapore wok dish my wife ordered was pretty bland too. My wife had to season it herself which I will say is a first for us, we grab asian take out at least once a week and we've never had to season our food before. I will give them credit for their mango blended milk tea. We order boba teas on the regular and this one is probably the best I've had in Tacoma. The tapioca pearls melt in your mouth unlike any others I've had around town and the mango flavor was pretty amazing. I may come back to try the food again one day, maybe the chef was having an off day. Will definitely return for a milk tea next time I...
