Happy Lemon - Tacoma — Restaurant in Tacoma

For a place that serves a lot of tea drinks. How can I not order a simple matcha smoothie? There are only two matcha blended drink options they gave me: Matcha avocado or Mango matcha. Neither sounded good to me. I asked for a matcha only blended drink and they said it was impossible. I ended up paying $8 for the mango matcha and it tasted like seaweed. (How hard is it to make a matcha drink, just take out the mango and voila I would have paid the same price for them to just take out the mango and give me a matcha drink?) Anyways, I love matcha and the grassy flavor it has but seriously.. My drink tasted like fresh out the ocean SEAWEED. Ive never been to a boba/smoothie shop that wouldn't make me a matcha only blended drink. Even Starbucks is better than this place for quality of matcha and price!!! (I never thought I'd say that last part but a $7 venti vs a $8 seaweed drink... Cmon now.) Next time I'm going to Bobalust which is right across the street.

Also the girl at the register kept giving me looks like I was crazy when I was making my order, like she couldn't hear me but wasn't paying attention to me in the first place so I had to repeat myself multiple times. I saw other reviews where people had an issue with customer service so I guess if I read the reviews I wouldn't be surprised. They definitely need customer service training there.

The only good part of my order was the bubble waffle which was pretty tasty. The sauce/cream for the waffle was $1.25 though which is pretty insane for a tiny cup of sugar paste that imo should be complimentary when you pay for a waffle. Overall the taste of the waffle and cream was really good though I won't be buying it again because of the cost. Not good enough for a 2 star rating either.

Tldr: Expensive, I feel robbed. Low quality tasting drinks. If it's not on the menu, they won't customize or take any ingredients out of their menu drinks. Bubble waffle was the only decent thing in my order. Very...

Today at noon, I went to Happy Lemon in Tacoma to claim my free drink as new users who download the app are entitled to a free drink. However, the staff was indifferent and rude towards me. Even though I had the free code on the Happy Lemon app, she still refused to acknowledge it and shouted at me. I recommend avoiding this store as it is terrible. 0 star.

Shouldn't a company provide comprehensive training for its employees so that they can have a clearer understanding of the company's policies and activities? However, this particular employee was unable to provide reasonable and accurate explanations to customers. Is it the customer's fault for this? Secondly, from the beginning, she has been consistently cold and impatient, and even started shouting at me. Go out of your way and visit the Olympia one. Waited until my waffle was cold before giving it to me, on top of that, they dropped the cream and put it back in the bag so I had to request a new one. Who knows what everyone has been stepping in... I don't want to touch something that touched the ground before I hold it to eat out of. Wasn't told that they were out of the cream for the genshin drinks before they made them. And we didn't get as much stuff in it at the Olympia one that I'm used to. The dudes here were nice but no napkins in the lobby for us and no super long straws for the tall drinks.

2 stars for customer service but -3 for quality, consistency, and weak drinks. Even the whip cream was lacking.
