Yaki Raki — Restaurant in Tacoma

It seems like this place just opened recently (12/08/23) I was looking at some of the reviews before coming into this place and it seems that everything people mentioned were right!

Entering the establishment I was greeted by super friendly and nice staffs, the place seemed modern with a touch of Japanese architecture, they had nice tables and the place was very clean.

I am not someone that eats raw sushi or fish at all but the Chirashi bowl here had changed my mind, the bowl came with an assorted amount of fishes along with tamago(egg), avocado, and sushi rice. The fish was very good and everything in the bowl together was delicious.

I also had the Tonkotsu ramen and the broth was really yummy. Usually when I have ramen at other Japanese restaurants the broth is a little too salty but at Yaki Raki the broth tasted clean and was seasoned very well. The noodle texture had a nice bite to it but was not chewy, the chashu had a nice char to it and was very soft to the bite while having a slight crisp.

Had Tonkotsu Ramen, Well the eggs are low quality you can say by the color of Yolk and in it was well done 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ it’s not supposed to be that way who does well done eggs in this kind of dish. The pork taste like burned rubber no taste of quality meat or at all nasty honestly prove me wrong if I’m not correct who will try. The preparation is good but the taste is 👎 and veggies in this soup for $16 are basically not in there more corn because it’s cheaper to get it from the can,, all what else is listed in the menus you can let even see it and more ramen! I can eat ramen at home if I wanted. Look at the picture. I would not spend money next time for they are not selling as it shows on pic and on menu… they are saving on quality of food and pork water and test your ramen 👎 Why 1 star service because you sit your self, you come and order your self, at tables no napkins etc, they won’t come out to you ask how it is etc. So don’t call your self Japanese place when Mexicans and Indian working in the kitchen and Asian at the cashier! This place does not qualify for me...

I’ve been here twice now, and just didn’t enjoy the food here, plus the prices are fairly high. The service is quick and the portions are big, so there is that. But the food itself, wasn’t very good to me. (Edit) I see the comment left under this post, and I feel offended that I can’t write about my personal experience here. If we want to talk about “harassing” I thought the entire point of being able to leave reviews was so we were allowed to share our honest opinion? Writing under my review and making it look like it’s false, blaming that it was written because of a different reason, simply so your business looks better is sad. :( It’s disappointing that a business can’t take criticism. I am not “Mckayla Peterson” I wrote this review based off an experience I had that was entirely my own, not because of a “Mckayla Peterson.” Will definitely not be eating at this restaurant again after seeing the level of immaturity displayed...
