This review is for a visit on July 12, 2022 at 12:45 p.m. It is a Tuesday. Many of the photos seen in the reviews so far are very reflective of what’s there at the moment. The only photos I’m uploading are the current pricings as of this visit.
Harvest Buffet is classified as an all-you-can-eat Asian buffet. It is well priced for what it offers, and generally costs less than competitors with similar offerings. The quality of food I rate from slightly below average to above average depending on which item you eat. The food preparation place looks clean, and there are bussing people circulating.
The outside of the restaurant is very unassuming. Upon entry, you immediately see the order/payment counter with buffet and take-out pricings electronically displayed above the station. The whole area is very spacious with high ceilings. Upon entering the buffet area from the left side of the payment area, you’ll see a huge dining hall with a large area of food stations located in the center towards the right. There is a banquet area on the left with multiple entry doorways that provides additional seating when there is no event. There is another banquet room to the right side that doubles as additional seating as well. There is also seating scattered around the food serving stations as well. The restrooms are located all the way to the rear of the entryway on the left side. They were pretty well maintained.
The foods I believe can be categorized as follows: First row mainly consists of SuShi/Sashimi - Mostly rolls with some specialties scattered. (Try out the Tempura sushi California roll (I think!), battered and fried, providing interesting texture contrast.) Right of the Sushi area rests the salad bar. It is well stocked and fresh. Cornering into 6+ specialty salads, and again cornering into the 2nd row which provides a huge amount of desserts, including mostly cakes, and kids' favorites - ice cream and cotton candy.
Third and last row provides seafood in many forms, a carving station of roast beef, sausages you can cut to sizes you select, some orange chicken plus other prepared asian dishes of meat and vegetable combinations. The far right corner rests the soup station of at least 5 different soups, cornering into kids hot food station of about 6 dishes. Cornering into Dim Sum station mainly of steam buns, chicken feet and beef tripe. This corners to the soup noodles and Mongolian Beef stations where you can customize to your own delight. Do note that although the prepared Mongolian grill was good, it's cooked with too much oil and sauce, so make your cooking requests with that in mind. Self service drink stations are also scattered around the food station serving mainly Pepsi products. You can get tea and coffee (I think?) to accompany your dining as well.
The place was busy from when we arrived at almost 1 p.m., but business gradually dwindled after the lunch rush was over. Bussing staff were constantly there clearing up the tables, but were not intrusive. Overall, I had a very good dining experience. As with most buffets, I tend to overeat, and this was no exception. I do not think I shall ever visit during peak hours on weekends as I can sense the chaos of large crowds with kids running around everywhere.

Read moreGreat large buffet , with every option you can think of. Decent prices , with plenty of seating. Fast paced louder environment sometimes during peak hours depending where you are sitting, options for everyone even the picky eaters which is nice. Overall I give this buffet restaurant 4 stars and if you have a huge group of people who like to eat allot , this is the place to go, as youll definitely get your money's worth if you have more than two entree plates. I personally like going here because of the great sushi bar , since quality sushi would cost far more if you went to a different restaurant and ordered just one roll or two + options are endless for cooked and raw rolls. My family loves this joint and we go here instead of golden coral due to this buffet having more options for same price range . Kid friendly environment, you can bring the whole family which most do , drinks are sold separately and you can even get custom freshly cooked dishes made up in one of the far grill sections . My brother always gets steak and chicken pasta made up or a seafood dish made up hot and fresh made to order right infront of you or a steak , with custom sauces and selections of rice or noodles for max value, then goes for sushi befor other sections as that insures you get your money's worth and then some. Buffets are hard to rate because they all are kinda the same , but this one is the biggest we've been to and is always hoppin with tons of people. Deserts section is decent with cakes , ice cream and choclate bar and the salad / fruit bar is also great with many options. Cleanliness I'd give a 4 , its clean with active workers, but with so much foot traffic it'd be nice to see some addional employees cleaning and flowing around. Last time I was there a kid spilled a bunch of his sprite drink on the ground and I almost biffed it hard on the floor slipping but luckily caught myself , if I wasn't fit with good reflexes id have went down hard for sure , which worried me for so many elderly eating and kids . Took me having to seek out an employee , then 10 minutes of people walking by and through it for someone to clean it up and who knows how long itd been there with no one saying anything befor I almost biffed it, thus having more cleaners on the move tending to those types of situations would be useful to prevent people from getting hurt and or a potential lawsuit. Great joint overall if you like buffets and if you go on the weekend during prime time dinner hours expect to wait about 20min, as it'll probably be packed. Week days your pretty solid since they can seat a couple hundred people, but id try and get ahead of the dinner rush if possible on weekends. Location isnt the best area in Tacoma, with homeless people in the neighboring lots or in the parking lot , however there is always armed security out front so that is nice. Plenty of parking and its...
Read moreI saw this place recommended from a YouTube video and honestly, I didn't know if I should believe the review. But after having been here, I totally understand why this place is so highly recommended.
First of all this place is the biggest buffet I have ever seen. There are rooms within rooms of seating and there are private rooms that you can rent out (while we were there, there was a large party in one of the side rooms.) There was a sign saying they are expanding so I can only imagine how big they will get eventually.
You pay upfront when you walk in and you choose if you want to have a soda or not. Tip: there are coupons online that you can google and that can save you up to 10% or get a free drink.
It took me 5+ minutes to even just walk around to all the different food stations and look at all the offerings. I think what sets this place apart is the fact that they have so many different stations such as a Mongolian grill, dim sum station, a chocolate fountain for dessert, a crêpe station, Hot food station, sushi station, and many more. I definitely recommend walking to all the different stations and lifting up the lids to see the offerings before diving in and getting food. Definitely pace yourself because you cannot possibly eat every single thing that you see. All the food tasted good and I was really impressed by the sushi that was put out and some of the meats that was in the hot station. They literally had a roasted beef where people can just cut pieces for themselves. There were also things like chicken feet and pig feet, and other things that I don't normally see at a buffet.
I was so full that I didn't even get to try the Mongolian grill, but that is a whole meal in of itself so go for it if you're still hungry. I did have room for dessert since it's a separate stomach and I got to try a lot of their offerings. I really liked the taro and mango pudding And I appreciated that they had the tapioca and coconut pearl soup as well. I had the egg tart and I couldn't help myself but dip some fruit in the chocolate fountain too.
One thing I will say is, I am not sure how sanitary everything is. At the chocolate fountain, there was a little kid using his fingers to dip so many things in the chocolate fountain and had a whole plate covered in chocolate and he was licking his fingers the whole time. Even in the meat cutting station , since the food sits out for a while, I'm not sure how protected it is from other germs. But coming to a buffet I anticipated this and it is what it is.
At the low price of about $16 for a weekday lunch, it really is an incredible meal and I don't think I can find a better meal anywhere else in this area. Highly recommend and you will be set for the day.
They do say there are more seafood offerings for dinner time but the price jumps up a lot so I'm not sure if it's as worth it to...
