Our favorite afternoon date spot. Vegan friendly and 80ā of their menu is made GLUTEN FREE!!! Updating and lowering stars. They may be lying to the community about how vegan they actually are. More to come... *Second update. Further lowering star count. While picking up an order we placed online for menu items we still trusted, I was cornered by the owner, Joy, who recognized my name and matched it to this review. The first part of this interaction seemed to be positive... maybe the former employee who called me at home to tell me I was being deceived WAS wrong...? Not likely. As Joy kept going, she kept naming former employees who she believed gave me this information. She was degrading them, calling them incompetent. She made comments about how they were "just servers" and asked, "Why would I show these girls all of the bottles in my kitchen when they can't even memorize the menu?" She mentioned that she would let me go with her, right then, and see most of the bottles myself. I politely told her that I would consider coming back another time to do so, but that I had no reason to not believe what I was told. TRANSPARENCY: I had a former employee look me up, call me at home, and share with me that some specific items we were being told were vegan, were not being made vegan. She told me the owner would show the servers one thing, but the cooks would show them the actual bottles they use when Joy wasn't around. When I explained this to Joy, her response was more name calling of the former employees (of whom she had no idea WHO I had spoken with....she was just bad mouthing anyone who it could have been). It was incredibly awkward standing there defending her former employees, most of whom I don't know, in front of a growing crowd. It sucks to be attacked in the front of a restaurant for leaving an honest review. Did she think bad mouthing employees and getting upset at me was going to increase her star count?
Oh. We ordered fried rice this time. We believe it was vegan and gluten free. But the vegetables I paid extra for were mysteriously missing. So,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy absolute FAVORITE restaurant. Found this hidden gem on my āfind me gluten free app,ā and I have ZERO regrets. So many gluten free options that taste absolutely delicious. The Pad Thai is 10 stars out of 5 - there are days I dream about it and the peanut sauce. Always get EXTRA peanut sauce itās so good you want to drink it alone and they give you giant side option servings. The curries donāt come with rice but itās only $2.00 and definitely enough to for at least two people or four small children. The fresh rolls with the gf sauce are 7 out of 5 stars. The Pad Orange Sauce is 8 out of 5 stars (it has real orange slices!!). The Pas Graprau (Basil) is 8 out of 5 stars. The sweet sticky rice is 10 out of 5 stars. The only thing Iāve tried and didnāt like is the sweet sticky rice with mango because the mango when I tried it was too firm. Everything else is so amazing that whenever Iām in town I make it a point to come here. The prices are reasonable, the customer service is amazing, and they actually honor their spiciness levels which I appreciate (a 2 star spice level is ACTUALLY 2 stars and not a fiery hot 5 making you question how spicy you really can eat). Authentic and awesome -...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been eating here pretty much from their having opened up shop. I can tell you that in the Puget Sound region, for well over a decade, they have remained our absolute number one "go to" for quality, authentic Thai cuisine. Having been in Thailand for close to 3 years in all, I can tell you that what they do here is unmatched, and, it has absolutely stood the Test of Time. I am down below Joint Base Lewis McChord and yes, we have Chef Ron and his restaurants, but let me tell you, consistently, the quality, the dish authenticity and the price, is NUMBER ONE... each and every time. Never - have we been let down in any way from these folks. They have our love, our support, and our absolute following. I would rather, and do, drive the extra distance, knowing that what I am getting, costs much less than if I bought the same from Chef Ron's places down in Lacey, and, I know that what I will be enjoying, has come from the husband/wife Thai born and raised couple and owner of the restaurant. Authentic. Quality second-to-none. Has stood the Test of Time. You cannot go wrong with Peanut Sauce...
