I would like to give this more stars because the food was really very good. However the service was so lackluster that I actually felt my presence was an inconvenience. A small group of friends decided to meet up there for dinner and drinks prior to an event we were going to that evening. One of the gals put some tables together and was strongly chastised because we hadn't made reservations. I'm sorry but I don't know about you, but rock the dock isn't the place I've ever thought of as having to make reservations. It was like the thought of selling food and drinks to a group of people was a negative instead of a positive. The place was absolutely dead on a Saturday night, they should have been thanking their lucky stars we were bringing in people. Instead they acted like we were intruders My suggestion is to get some wait staff that actually treat your customers as if they want them there. I'm not sure what happened here, whether it's a change of management or just some really bad hiring decisions, but this used to be the place to come for a fun and relaxed atmosphere and now it really is going to be my last choice. Such a shame considering the food was really good.
Edited to add a response to the owners response: Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. I didn't feel good about the review because i've always had great service there, in fact, i was the one that suggested we meet up there. I was puzzled by the change in atmosphere that night. Thank you for taking the time to respond and to listen. It says volumes. I work in customer service and sometimes it feels like a lost art. I have changed my stars and i'll be sure...
Read moreI'd like to clarify that I was with my family, mother n law and husband Jeff and brother n law David. We've always had a great experience at the Dock and great waitresses and service. However when the waitress brought up the chairs she was rude, it was in her tone, we didn't realize the other chairs were outdoor chairs, my mother n law didn't realize or see the signs about the dogs. Again when the waitress said something she was rude. The people to the left were leaving and offered us their table, they commented that she didn't have to talk to us that way. David threw down his menu and walked out, he did not throw at the waitress.I placed ours on the table and we left as she didn't seem to care if we stayed or left. I myself was in disbelief at what was happening. We were out for a boat ride and stopped in, it was 1st time for my mother n law that just lost her husband, and it was a nice outing until we arrived there. As David can get upset more than others I feel he was in control but reacted on her rudeness. As for the rest of us we were polite. I understand you sticking up for your employees, but I feel she could have been more polite and said it in a different way. We would have put the chairs back. We were not trying to do as we pleased as you mentioned in your comment to Jeff. We have our boat across at the Marina and go to the Dock often, and the waitresses have been beyond nice. I have never left a review ever but feel the need to this time. I know you read and comment on reviews. This review is not against the Dock but one particular waitress. I'm sorry if you don't value us as long...
Read moreThis is my preferred spot to meet with friends family, or just by myself. The view is beautiful, no matter what weather conditions, and their menu offers a vast variety of food to satisfy any craving. Everything is delicious from the shrimp cocktail, to burgers, to the taco salad. The service is also amazing. Iappreciate the staff's enthusiasm for the menu and their guests. My brother and I stopped in for dinner on Father's Day. We both have experience in the food/restaurant industry and didn't have high expectations, knowing what a crazy day it must have been. However, the waitress was cool, calm, and genuinely happy to be there and serving us. She was up front and apologetic about menu items that weren't available, and incredibly patient helping us decide on other options. She introduced herself, but I can't remember the name. Pretty girl with short hair, piercings, and tattoos (I apolgize for the vague description). I know it must have been a crazy day for her but she didn't let that interfere with legendary customer service. I returned the very next day for dinner with my boyfriend. The steamer clams were AMAZING and our waitress was cute, funny and perfectly attentive despite having a foot injury. I didn't catch her name, either but she was pretty with long hair. For years now, Rock The Dock Pub and Grill has consistently provided me a fabulous dining/drinking...
