Evolv Device Repair — Local services in Tacoma

My iPad mini 4 died and would not take a charge. Found this place on a Google search and the reviews convinced me to bring my device in. First the reception area is minimalistic modern very tastefully done and clean. That was reassuring as it conveyed a feeling of care for the customer. There was another customer waiting and a person on the phone behind the reception desk wall who popped out to reassure me they knew I was there and would be with me shortly. Sure enough the person came out and introduced himself as Luis and when I mentioned iPad mini he immediately remembered talking with my husband about 3 hours before I came in. I thought it was a dead battery and I received a quote and timeline for that repair, however a day and a half later Luis informed me that the Tristar chip had fried. He gave me a choice and a quote to fix but I chose not to at this time. The amazing thing was that there was no charge since they could not fix it for what I had originally brought in for. I cracked the back panel glass on my LG G7 a few months ago and it's been completely shattered since. I called Evolv and I swear they quoted me a while back at a little over $100 dollars for everything (parts and labor). I was fine with that and took it in.

They said it was very hard to find the back glass for an LG G7 (doesn't surprise me, it's been discontinued for years and LG doesn't even make phones anymore), so it took a few weeks for them to source the part. When they called that they finally got the part, I rushed down to their repair shop and gave Luis my phone. We chit-chatted for a while about Android vs iOS (I'm a talker, but he was very patient). Said it would be about an hour. So I left to a restaurant across the street and had a burger and tots.

Got back to the place, had to wait maybe another 10 minutes or so. Then it was done, and I got the bill. $87.14. Wow, that was a lot cheaper than quoted earlier. Looks and feels amazing and the fingerprint scanner works unobstructed.

These guys are worth every cent. I smashed my ipad mini 4 screen and I decided to bring it to Evolv as they seemed like the best option. I left it there as they didn't have an LCD screen in for my ipad and then got it back a few days later. Everything looked fine except that part of the screen was coming up, so I brought it back in and they added more adhesive. I got it back and once again it was sticking up. So I brought it back in one more time and they went super in-depth to try and find why the screen was sticking up (part of the frame was ever so slightly bent) and then addressed that issue. I got it back for a third time and finally the screen stayed down. These guys are super friendly and WANT to help you fix your device. I was never charged any extra for coming back in and they always found time to work on it. On top of that they walked me through everything they did to fix what was going on.
