The Palace Kebab — Restaurant in Tacoma

A HUGE THANK YOU TO SHAWN AT PALACE KEBAB FOR GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND!

After another business cancelled a catering order last minute, I reached out to The Palace Kebab and Shawn came to the rescue.

I called and informed him how many people were attending a dinner party - he told me to look over the menu and call back. So I did and decided on going the family platter route with some add ons. He asked how many people I was feeding and I told him 10-15, based on what I ordered he thought that was too much food and gave his opinion- - so I went with it.

I arrived 30 minutes early and approached the counter and said I know I'm early I'll wait just want you to know I'm here and he let me know he was working on the order. I walk around the building and sit down and he comes over to me saying "I'm sorry to keep you waiting, I wanted to make the order fresh for you." I let him know that there was no rush whatsoever and appreciated him. When the food was ready he let me know he separated all the meats into individual containers (which I appreciated). Then a woman (his wife possibly) double checked the bags to make sure everything was there, she saw a salad was missing and put it in the bag. They also threw in a couple dolma appetizers - above and beyond!

They asked if I needed help taking the bags out to the car which was very nice but I was able to manage.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pictures of the food but it was ALL DELICIOUS! Our guests loved the meat, rice and especially the dolmas!

Overall, I'm glad it didn't work out with the other business because based on the customer service here alone - I'd be back to support but the fact that the food was great makes it all the better.

We ordered several things to share, and all of it was great! Our favorites are the lamb & beef gyro, the Greek salad, and the veggie plate, specifically for the tzatziki on pita with cucumbers feta and olives and the walnuts and almonds were perfect with this. The Greek fries with garlic sauce were also excellent. We were also gifted a little dessert. I wish I knew what they were called, because I’d order them every time. Little delicious pillows of cream. Service (front and kitchen) were so welcoming!!! We will definitely be back!…we have eaten there multiple times since. Tonight was as excellent as always. Once again, fabulous! My favorite thing (so far) is the veggie plate! The hummus is incredible and topping it with the walnuts, veggies, and cheese…so good! The garlic fries are incredible and I don’t even like garlic fries. The gyro wrap is large enough for two, especially with all the sides we order! We are so happy with everything (ordered delivery) and are looking forward to going in to eat to try some of the other dishes! I am in love with the cream puffs (noon khamei?). They are simple and perfect. I’m always in awe each time I eat the sweet little clouds of cream. The one time we went in to eat everyone was so friendly and welcoming. A true hidden treasure in Tacoma!...

My girlfriend and I tried Palace Kebab yesterday and came back today. The restaurant opened a month and a half ago. We had came to the Depot to eat at a different restaurant, but were intrigued by the new place. After our meal at the other restaurant, we went and got dessert. We enjoyed the Persian Tea and Baklava so much, and the menu looked so good, we went back to eat today. Today, we had Koobideh (beef) Kebab, Shirazi Salad, and ended it with more baklava and Persian hot tea. The food is made fresh for you when you order it, which takes time, but it is so worth it. I watched Shawn, the owner, prepare the Shirazi Salad from scratch, chopping all the veggies and seasoning it fresh. Then get the kebabs of meat and tomatoes and peppers ready for the grill. Such high quality of food; everything is fresh and flavorful. Shawn was also very gracious and a sweet man. He was an excellent host and asked us throughout our meal if there was anything we needed as he kept busy prepping things in the kitchen.
