Cheros Grill — Restaurant in Takoma Park

So my wife and I were doing our usual dance of "What do you want for dinner?" and I decided to take matters into my own hands and do a search for "food near me". Up pops Cheros Grill. As a proud resident of the People's Republic of Takoma Park, I felt it was necessary to support this local business. So off I went. I have driven past the location for years and never thought about trying it but today was the day and boy oh boy what a day. First, let's start with the clean atmosphere. It may be at a service station but their area is super clean. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the Tia who is very pleasant and about her business. I ordered the steak burrito and the carnitas (pork) for my wife and a carnitas taco on the side for me. The taco is plain just onions and cilantro and doesn't need anything else except the tomatillo sauce. It is small yet powerful. The burrito is chockful of meat, vegetables and well-cooked rice, with the meat thrown on the griddle right there. Overall I would recommend it. I'm going there right now after I post...

The burritos are great here: fresh ingredients wrapped in a beautiful, almost polished, tortilla.

I was surprised to find this is a food truck in a quasi-permanent installation near a gas station, but don't let that stop you. And, there is a suitable sit-down space across the street and the Takoma Junction community area including a covered area.

After moving away, had to get a steak burrito when I came to visit. My first time here in 2 years and still perfectly tender steak, well made rice and beans and perfectly put together burrito. Just Delicious.
