The worst food and customer service ever. We wanted to support this vegan establishment but they were so discourteous to us when our food was over salted. We ordered a variety of their popular dishes and had gotten the extra spicy for their bibimbap. However, spicy in this restaurant is just essentially more gojuchang sauce and if you get the extra “spicy” you will be served a salt bomb. The server failed to tell us this and brought a over salted dish that was not edible at all. I hate returning dishes at restaurants and thought that some extra rice could help with the saltiness and taste. We asked for more rice and still couldn’t eat it because of the salt level. We decided to take it home and add more rice there but when we were leaving they asked us to pay extra for the rice even after we complained about the salt. This is when I became salty because no one could have eaten that Bibimbap with that amount of salt! I can’t believe I was being nice by not returning the inedible dish in the first place. Instead of apologizing about their mistake, the management was apathetic, unhelpful and inhospitable. We were so upset by the entire situation that we left the dish with them, paid an extra 5 dollars for the rice and tipped the server way more than he deserved. It’s no surprise that we will never be returning here again. If you’re a meat eater who’s trying to support local vegan establishments, stay away from this place. There are way better Korean restaurants around here which won’t send your BP levels through the roof. Vegans have limited choices but I’d be sorry for anyone that has to deal with Seoul Food’s incompetency, ungracious hospitality and not to mention the unhealthy level of salt that could send anyone to the hospital. I can’t believe they’ve won any awards. HA - what a joke. You’ve been...

When you walk in, you're immediately greeted by a lush array of plants and a clear view of the open kitchen, which adds a welcoming touch to the atmosphere. The staff behind the counter are warm and friendly, offering helpful recommendations if you're unsure of what to order. It's important to note that this is not a full-service restaurant, so orders are placed at the counter, and you need to grab your water yourself. We weren't initially informed of this, which led to a bit of confusion as we waited for our waters while seated. However, the staff were quick to apologize and kindly explained how the service works.

We decided to start with the Jeju buns, tteokguk, and croquettes with curry, and later shared a fried vegan 'chicken' bibimbap. The food was exceptionally fresh, and while I can't speak to its authenticity, the flavors were outstanding. The kimchi jeju buns were a particular highlight for me, and I appreciated how vegan-friendly the menu is. I will certainly be returning and have already started recommending this spot to friends. I’m especially looking forward to trying their pistachio cake on...

Seoul Food DC has been my favorite restaurant in DC since I moved here 10+ years ago. Their latest location in Takoma Park is a warm, fun, welcoming space that is perfectly curated to make you feel at home and brighten your day. Seoul Food's bibimbap was my first introduction to Korean food and it has held a place in my heart all this time. The rice is perfectly cooked, soft and fluffy, with pounds of crunchy fresh flavorful vegetables and amazing spices. All other bibimbap disappoints after you have experienced this one. If you are trying to build more tofu into your life, this is the place to start - I've never had such expertly cooked tofu with a perfectly crisp outside and warm inside. And don't get my started on the desserts. The most important thing to know is that this place is run by the most amazing woman and a fabulous family. When you come here, you will feel the love as soon as you walk in the door, and you will taste it...
