IHOP — Restaurant in Takoma Park

I came here for my sons graduation and it was a horrible experience. It's shameful how in 2019 with all the racist climate changes. A time where Blacks and Hispanics should be coming together and uniting instead of fighting. I discovered some people will be racist no matter what.  I must have stood next to the register waiting for someone to take my name, so I could be on the waiting list for a table for 15 minutes. I watched one staff member come back & forth countless times without serving me. Then a white family comes in, and this same young lady walks over to them & IMMEDIATELY serves them.  Mind you there weren't a bunch of Black people in there. My family were the ONLY Black people waiting and it was standing room only. Everyone else was Hispanic.  I make this point to say "there is no possible way that she thought she served us already. There was no one to get us mixed up with". Bottom line she was too busy to serve Black people, but was free to serve White people, without them waiting even 10 seconds. What's wrong with this picture? Of course I am not coming back. Thank you Miss for making a time of celebration,  something horrible and straight...

Poor experience. I noticed that there was lipstick on the coffee mug as it was being brought to my table...it was replaced with another mug with lipstick. I guess our waitress decided she no longer wanted to serve us because she was replaced by another waitress with no notice and she continued to laugh and play elsewhere. My husband and I were both served cold food and when it came back to us, his order was incorrect. Instead of offering to bring the bacon that was supposed to be on his plate, the waitress attempted to take his plate once again. After waiting for food twice, this is unacceptable and I asked for it to be brought on a separate plate. Neither of our waitresses were even slightly apologetic and just stared at me and the plates when I pointed out the errors. I’m also disappointed that the manager didn’t come address our issues, he was too busy yelling about sports in the kitchen. I also dislike when people in customer service put my money/card on the table when I put it IN THEIR HAND. Not everyone knows this etiquette, but I think it’s pretty rude. To top it off, the food made me extremely sick and gave me diarrhea. I certainly will not...

I got the lemon ricotta blue berry pan cakes. There is supposed to be blue berries cooked inside the pancakes as well as a syrup/compote type sauce on top along with the lemon ricotta. The blue berries inside seemed like and after thought you'll see in the picture they are all in the center instead of spread throughout the pancake. The blue sauce was good not too sweet it really only worked if you got the ricotta & sauce on the pancake other wise it was lacking. I had to ask for more of each. The blueberry syrup given was the syrup they used to leave on all the tables which was different tasting and significantly sweeter. It at least wet the pancakes. I used to debate with waitresses the true definition of an over easy egg, they'd insisted the white should be runny... I don't know who wants to eat something that's the consistency of snot, maybe it's just me. I guess there are people that eat raw eggs. So, I finally gave up and started to order over medium and normally got close to a real over easy egg. This time I didn't ask their cooks definition on how they fry their eggs and I truly got over medium eggs. Take that how ever...
