Bullwinkle's Saloon — Restaurant in Tallahassee

My friend had me go with her even though I’ve heard rumors about this business from other friends. It’s 20$ aycd and I rarely go out so I figured I’d see it for myself and not judge. I guess the main part of the building was closed when I attended so I can only review the back part I was in. There was a pile of empty pizza boxes in front of the DJ booth. And by pile I mean at least 30-35 boxes. The appearance looked like a very run down place which I can understand it’d be run down since they have college kids tearing it up in there and having a good time. I only got 2 tiny plastic cups of drinks for my aycd as the bartenders will ignore you if you aren’t a regular. They were doing it not to just me, but several patrons. I gave two stars as I liked the patio on top. It was a neat aesthetic similar to the bars I do attend when I’m out. I liked being able to sit outside and enjoy my 4 oz cup of cranberry vodka and chat with my friend. I wouldn’t go again, but it definitely was an experience. And judging by how the owner responds to reviews, you can tell they don’t handle criticism well which is unfortunate as they are in a prime location and could benefit from cleaning up the place and hiring more staff that have bartender backgrounds to serve patrons that do...

Went on a Thursday night (3/21) and the only option to get in was $12 for All You Can Drink. After waiting on line for 30 mins to get in, we go to the bar first thing and try to get a drink. After 21 minutes of waiting (I counted) the bartender finally got to us only to yell and curse at us for "shaking the cup and pissing her off" (we weren't doing anything like that at all she was genuinely tweaking)

Realizing we wouldn't get anywhere with her we went to other bartenders, only for them to tell us that the AYCD didn't count there. Even going to other bartenders that do serve the AYCD, they blatantly ignore you and will spend over 15 mins talking to their friends rather than serving anyone when its super busy. One bartender literally tossed a cup someone handed him to fill for no apparent reason, and he lost his cup completely for the night because of that. After spending about 70 mins in there, my friends and I each only were able to get 1 drink at the most.

Other people I met there were complaining about the same bartender, maybe I can give the place a 2nd chance but the rude bartender made mine and others nights a lot worse. Poor Paul's next door saved the night though, that place was significantly better and they don't treat you like a jerk for...

finally decided to check out bull’s with high hopes, as friends praise this place and go to AYCD thursdays every week. my partner and i, after waiting for half an hour in line, spent two hours at this establishment, only receiving a drink after 1 hour of waiting. we politely held our cups and watched as bartenders served those around us, and served those who came after us.

a particular bartender on the rooftop served people who held their wet, dripping cups above my head and around me, as if i was nonexistent in their periphery. in addition to this, during our hour wait at the bar, one of the managers (wearing a shirt with “manager” on it lol) was present for its entirety. it felt as if staff were encouraged & trained to behave this way towards patrons.

moreover, apparently there are around 12 bartenders staffed at a time, but it did not seem like there were even 6 (as busy as graduation weekend is). it felt as if we were wasting our time, and do not believe we will be returning to this establishment. however, i’m certain that other people have had much better...
