My fiance and I served for six years and neither of us would have ever treated a table the way our waitress treated our table today.
We came in with a party of six to grab lunch for my friend's Birthday at 12:00. The waitress was impolite and rushed us the entire time. It was clear she was trying to quickly turn tables in her section. Whatever, we've been in her position before, and we're not looking for a performance from our servers when we go out, so we brushed it off.
We checked out at around 12:40, and immediately after she cashed us out, our waitress proceeded to use every passive aggressive "server trick" in the book to try and signal to us that she wanted us to leave (we know them because we all used to use the same tricks when we had tables that stuck around for too long). My friend, fiance and I all have service industry experience and immediately noticed her behavior, but shrugged it off because we had JUST checked out, and we all knew we wouldn't be staying much longer. Then, she started loudly complaning about us to the girl at the host stand (which was directly next to where my fiance and I were sitting). Obviously, she meant for us to hear her.
At that point we got so uncomfortable that we told our friend and her family what was going on, and we all decided to leave. I would totally understand her behavior if we had been lingering there for a long while, but by the time we got up and left it hadn't even been an hour since we had first sat down.
She ruined an otherwise great first experience for us, and put a weird, sour, note on my friend's Birthday lunch. It was so bad that my fiance considered letting the FOH manager know what happened and changing her tip, but we decided not to since we didn't want to make my friends Birthday lunch even more awkward than it already was. Needless to say, we won't be...

Read moreI enjoyed my breakfast with my daughter this morning. I was greeted by Haleigh. She let me pick a table outside. She greeted herself and took my drink order, a coffee. The coffee was warm... I’m a coffee drinker so it didn’t bother me much. Haleigh took my order, excited about eating at this Canopy location (last time I walked in at 2:32 BEFORE THE QUARANTINE). I forgot to ask for fruit for my French toast.... the location on N. Monroe 🙌🏾... I always got bananas and strawberries. So when my food came out, brought out by what may have been the manager. Whoever she was I let her know that I forgot to place the order of fruit and asked if Haleigh could put it in. The server, or manager, seems to be annoyed by my request; she puffed and said okay and rushed off. Haleigh brings the fruit out... the strawberries could have seen better days and the bananas were fine. I avoided feeding my daughter and myself the strawberries. When picking through the fruit for the bananas I saw that a few of the strawberries had decay spots and two with mold on them. The flustered server, possibly manager, just explained to another table that the arugula, delivered that morning, was not presentable and she will be sending it back and offered a substitute, spinach. So I wondered if my batch of fruit was older before the truck, which is not an excuse. I think you should always inspect before you deliver. Or was the fruit delivered in poor condition, which AGAIN, you should inspect before delivering. I enjoyed my breakfast and the outdoor dining area.
I probably won’t come back to this location, I’ll stick to my guys...
