Tried again in February 2025 and still not right. California bowl had little flavor except sweet and I'd forgotten and ordered the japcha beef again and it was wayy too gloppy saucewise. I doubt that I'll order from here again but if I do, maybe the japcha beef with sauce on the side.
[update 3 years later] Excellent customer service but most food we've tried are not quite right for us but with some promise. My wife enjoyed her beef bulgogi but wanted more veggies or acidity or something and it was very sweet for me. The grilled/bbq calamari (pictured) were rubbery chunks with raw-tasting 5 spice-ish type of seasoning drowned in a sauce with a pretty good flavor. The cook/tenderness of the beef, cook on the many onions, and flavor of the sauce of the Japcha stirfry (pictured) was very good but wayyy too much sauce and far too few veggies so more like a beef stew with stirfried onion and too-thick broth with a tiny bit, almost garnish, of cabbage and carrots over soggy/saturated noodles than a stirfry. The short ribs were cooked perfectly but were so doused in sesame that they tasted kinda like peanut butter cups or something and none of us are going to eat them. Little iceberg side salads were nice and fresh and crunchy and good with the too-sweet dressing diluted with some vinegar.
Spicy seafood soup had a very spicy, delicious, and complex broth, but it was more of a shrimp soup than a seafood one as far as "seafood"; there was a generous amount of shrimp though. Also, the soup cried out for some more veggies other than a few pieces of broccoli, as it was basically lots of noodles with shrimp in a tasty broth. The calamari had way too much panko compared to the actual "meat", although the coating was nice and light and not greasy or doughy and would be great with less of it or more actual calamari. This place has promise, and I will definitely try them again, but probably not the calamari flavored...
Read moreI have been wanting to try Korean corndogs for a while now, so I was pretty excited to find this place. I also love bulgogi, and the food looked great, as you can see in the photos, but it was awful!!! (Note my excessive use of exclamation points) The cordogs were literally tasteless. I can hardly understand how they could make them look so good yet have no flavor. The bugolgi was very tough and not very good, and though it seemed there was a healthy portion, it was just a small amount of "meat" (gristle) spread over a bed of onions. After a few bites, it all hit the garbage anyway, so I guess portion shouldn't matter. The same poor taste opinion goes for that dragon roll shrimp thing my son bought. The boy taking our order was a bit rude. Maybe having a bad day? Overall, it was a terrible experience that I went 25 miles out of my way to have. Beautiful day, though, and I had a chance to see my son who lives in the area. We ended up at Black Dog coffee shop, which is a much...
Read moreLove this place and the proximity to home. Everytime I come here I order so much food (and you get a lot for your money). Sushi is always well prepared uber fresh. This go round I ordered the fire dragon roll, salmon skin roll and salmon avocado roll. Love that crunch from the salmon skin! Every entrwe comes with salad and kimchi. The salad is very fresh and crunchy with romaine lettuce and some grated carrots with ginger sauce. Bibimap and Bulgogi are a must order for us and never disappoint. Also like their fried chicken wings. The honey lemon sauce is sooo good!! I decided to try their Age Tofu as I am a fan of Tofu itsi from the Indonesian place. Didn't love the Age Tofu though (it's not bad, the Indonesian place has just really spoiled me for crunch on the outside and creamy on the inside fried tofu). Tempura Cheese cake was awesome! (Really bought this for my daughter but she...
