01.10.2023 China Dragon shifted ownership a few years ago and the new husband (he's there but sightings are rare, hah-hah....he's the chef) and wife owners are gracious, and care about the quality of their food, and feedback about what you like. They also appreciate their repeat customers and are not shy to let their regulars know. Portions are fair, and the owners are willing to customize for a reasonable additional cost. In my experience, the food is always fresh and delicious. I love the Hot and Sour Soup, as well as most of the tofu (bean curd) dishes. You can substitute steamed tofu instead of pan-fried for free. Sometimes, the chef will prepare something that's not on the menu (for example: fried zucchini) and put a few pieces in your bag. If you like it, you can ask if it's available to purchase the next time you place an order. I haven't, but there are about 4 or 5 booths if you want to eat in. There are also a variety of pre-bottled drinks, sodas, and even packaged homemade tea. Anytime I "pick up Chinese" for anyone or recommend a restaurant for takeout, this is my place. There is no buffet. They do not deliver. I wish they would advertise a bit more. They did send out menus when they first took over, but I think that many people still do not realize that the business has switched hands.
Also: ~I got on fine with the previous owners, but I did witness a handful of times when miscommunication or seemingly abrupt responses from them left a customer frustrated and irritated. ~Just as a statement of fact, the current owners do not have young ones working with them. (Training up your child in the family business - especially the restaurant business - is a time-honored and sensible system; however, people have varying opinions when efficiency and surety suffer because of on-the-job-training...
Read moreI just moved to a new house. I called to order food and this place absolutely refused to deliver to my address because of the name of my street. The street is long and, as I tried to explain on the phone, I'm on the very beginning of it... which is closest to the restaurant. As a matter of fact, my house is only 1.4 miles away, according to Google Maps. The person who answered put me on hold twice (both times setting the phone down as I heard him ask another person whether or not to deliver in Mandarin) and both times he just kept reiterating "too far". He then abruptly hung up the phone.
I'm a nice person and I really like Chinese food but this was absolutely disrespectful and they have definitely lost my business. I understand they have a choice to limit their delivery zones, but you HAVE TO drive at least a mile to find any dense areas of houses. I can't believe my house was too far, or why even...
Read moreBest 'typical' Chinese Food In Town! I was sad to see some negative reviews below. Maybe they are mixed upon the location. China Dragon off Blair Stone is easily the best Chinese Food joint in town! They do NOT nickle and dime you. As a matter of fact, it's quite the opposite. The young guy who works up front often suggests different combinations to save you money to avoid up-charges. They always ask for which sauce sauce you want and give it to you free. The hot and sour soup is spicy and delicious! Especially Szechuan dishes! They are VERY spicy I've had a few different ones. Otherwise it's what you'd expect from a place like this. They are very nice and it's worth driving to this place if you want the best "typical" Chinese Food Joint! They also have Thai dishes to try...
