I'll let slide that I've heard them badmouth other game stores in the area and lie about what they offer for trade ins.
Recently the wife and I went there for a free digital content bonus for a game that we each own. In the first visit I was told that they do not know anything about it. The second visit I was told that it is for pre-orders only. On the third visit I pointed out that the poster for the giveaway states "no purchase necessary". They stayed on the pre-order only statement so I pulled out the advertisement from the Gamestop website which said just come in and ask for it. I was then told, not five minutes after being told that it's pre-order only, that "Oh, we're out of the giveaway codes. That's what I've been telling everyone."
I understand trying to make a sale, but when it crosses the line into blatantly lying it has...

My son asked several times to confirm she was ordering a new and not a used product. She confirmed it was new. I paid extra for expedited shipping as well. Three days later on 12/19, we looked up the order status and it showed a used product. Immediately called the store and was told I had to call the online number for the item to be cancelled. Get the order canceled and was promised a refund in 3-5 business days. It is now 2/29/20 and I still do not have a refund a keep getting the run around from everyone I speak to. Upon entering the store I was greeted by an employee who gave me a paper that indicated the upcoming sales and offers and clarification of any questions. However, my greatest issue with my experience is that he completely ignored my best friend. There's no doubt in my mind that she was not given the same service as I was due to her gender. These decisions are part of the reason why women gamers often feel isolated or unwelcome into gaming communities and ignoring a customer based on their gender is a norm I will not support .
