Jersey Shore native here so I’m snarky about my cheesesteak and as anyone reading my reviews knows, I’m a big fan of cheesesteak and a harsh critic on my best day. I LOVE THIS PLACE! It is equal to (in food quality and accuracy to a what a cheesesteak is in Philly) and exceeds my former winner down in Sanford in Central Florida. While both joints get the sandwich dead on— FBP has 1) onion rings that ruined onion rings for me anywhere else ever, ever again. If they had legs these would walk on water. 2) The atmosphere is a winner for me. It’s got that East Coast unpretentious, down to Earth vibe. 3) The beer was super reasonably priced and ice cold. 4) The service was sweet and friendly. Gal looks you in the eye and doesn’t seem to hate her job. Total win. But something was more special. I was celebrating, at noon on a Friday, being told I do not have breast cancer. Just learning this, I was in a super happy and outgoing mood- not the usual for former professional food writers, we are a cranky bunch on average. So I ordered a monster meal with my husband and we were day drinking and full of good vibes. Well- the owner came out to congratulate me and my husband, and gave us a celebratory shot. It’s an Elvis Presley themed shot that actually does taste like his famed peanut butter, banana and bacon breakfast sandwich! What great people! This spot so reminds me of faraway, youthful days on the Jersey Shore, where family owned spots dominate and nobody has any attitude problem. We will absolutely be back. Good food is one thing. Nice service is even harder to find- but an authentic Philadelphia neighborhood spot is the vibe here. Magical. This is the kind of place you can bring your kids- or leave them home and enjoy a date night. My only regret is there isn’t one of these in the town we own our farm in. Because if there was, I’d be there at least 3 days a week.

Best Philly Cheese steak in town! We ordered a little bit of everything it seems to try as much as possible. The waitress, Sam, was very friendly and informative. Our food came out under 10 minutes. My one suggestion to her was to tell them to double their order of Birch beer sarsaparilla as she said they run out of that flavor every week and it's the one I wanted! The beer cheese was awesome! The sandwich was great. Not over salted. The veggies were on the side and made it easy to pick and choose. We split the 12 inch, added the sides with drink option to save $$$. I ordered the onion rings and Sarah ordered the crab crispy fries with Creole. They were good, but I'd ask for less seasoning next time as it's salty. The pretzel bites were very big because they're battered and deep fried with a lot of salt. Not what I was expecting so the waitress took them off the ticket and brought the regular pretzel with beer cheese and it was awesome!!! This is the only place to get a Philly IMHO in Tallahassee! The restaurant has a cozy family restaurant feel with sports TV, and a bar! The outdoor sitting area is very comfortable. We'll definitely be coming back!

I love this place! And for so many reasons! :) First off, the onion rings were the best I have ever had! They are proud of them, and they have every right to be! :) Speaking of pride, their Italian Stallion sub (meatball) is made with Blake's (owner) grandmother's recipe! I actually passed on getting the Philly I have been craving for quite some time to try it after hearing Casey rave about it! :) Speaking of Casey, the way he handles himself, I mistook him for being the owner. He is one of those people every employer just dreams of having! :) I loved getting to talk to the owner, Blake. He admitted they are still working on getting the place to what they want. I couldn't tell anything was wrong due to the atmosphere and food being so wonderful! :) I plan on being back there many many times! :)

I don’t know what to say about this place. I grew up in Chicagoland, which has some similar unique history like Philly. Seeing the pride of the city in an area like Tallahassee was absolutely amazing. From the pictures of Philly to the signed 76ers Championship Basketball, the pride was there. The food was absolutely heavenly and the Philly cheesesteak was as real as it gets. While our waiter was a little clumsy and had some difficulties, he was also super helpful, nice, and welcoming. The fries were good, but I still think they paled in comparison to the glory of the Cheesesteak. Not to take anything away from the fries, but that’s just how good the Cheesesteak was! The owner came from humble roots and beginnings, as he we talked throughout the end of dinner as it was not too busy. His whole family was from Philly and he was born in the area but grew up in Jacksonville. He opened it up to keep the heritage there and I knew he was from a Philadelphia family as soon as he said You’s. Please help keep these small businesses running, the food is the best I’ve had since Portillo’s back in Chicago and the staff is as perfect as it gets. If this place gets shut down for financial reasons, then it will be a big bummer and disappointment for those who enjoyed it and a missed opportunity for those who...

Oohhh yea!! I mean ohhh ohh yea!!! Amazing!!

Was so excited to see Fly By Philly had moved nearer to my home on Apalachee Parkway. So excited that I jumped the gun and stopped by as soon as their sign went up which was a week premature. I belive when they did open i had to be one of their first ten customers!! Took my son in for a large Philly and I ordered shredded chicken nachos...each were AMAZING! My nachos were covered in delicious beer cheese. I couldn't wait to return. Then today, I called in another order for those same delicious nachos with the intent to place three more orders for Saturday to share with my Bible Study friends. I picked up my full order, and checked it when I got back to my car before leaving. Much to my disappointment I found a container full of nacho crumbs with less than a quarter cup of cheese and peppers and onions on top. I walked back into the restaurant and spoke with the owner who apogized for the new kitchen staff cutting me short on toppings and he took it back to the kitchen to make amends. It now looked much more like the first time I ordered it. And just as delicious!!! Now THATS providing...
