Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Tallahassee

Let me start by saying the Mahan location has always been one of my favorites in the Tallahassee area. The service, food, and cleanliness have consistently been top-notch, which is why it’s disappointing to leave this lower review.

Last night, I placed an online order and arrived at the store at 8:44 PM — well before the posted 9:00 PM closing time — only to find all the doors locked. I could see employees inside already cleaning and finishing their closing duties. I understand everyone wants to go home after a long shift, but locking the doors early while customers are still expected doesn’t reflect well on your service standards.

After waving to get someone’s attention, an employee eventually let me in and asked if I was picking up an online order. I confirmed I was, and while I appreciate being let in, it was clear he was irritated by the interruption. What was more surprising was that he wasn’t wearing a Jersey Mike’s uniform — just a t-shirt and jeans — which felt unprofessional.

As a retail manager myself, I would be very concerned to find out my team was closing early simply because they wanted to leave. If the store hours have changed and you’re now closing at 8:30 PM, they should be updated online to avoid confusion and lost business. I even noticed several cars pull into the lot and leave, likely assuming the store was closed.

This isn’t great customer service, and I hope it’s used as a coaching opportunity. For anyone considering ordering after 8:00 PM, be aware that you may run into issues picking up your food — because based on this experience, it seems the staff isn’t eager to assist near...

This was my first sub from Jersey Mikes. I had been hankering for a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich for a week or two and was picking up dinner for my husband and I. I was really looking forward to the hot Portobello Mushroom Steak sub, #66. After placing my order and prepaying for it before it was done being prepared, the server, Josh, informed me they were completely out of mushrooms. Because I really didn't want to go searching for dinner elsewhere, we agreed to do the sub without the mushrooms which was the biggest disappointment of all. I asked Josh for extra onions and green pepper to help make up for the loss of the mushrooms, however, that didn't happen. Once I got home with them, these sandwiches I paid $34.00 for were really subpar! First, there was hardly any cheese on either of them (unlike the pictures that are shown on the website), they had very little onions and green pepper on them, and my sandwich came with a nice square of butcher paper mixed in with the meat. I came to this store like I always do and had a very bad experience the cashier manager or whatever she is Lily she put sauce on my sandwich that I clearly told her to put in the cup she was so busy rushing me asking me questions trying to rush making my sandwich that’s how she messaged up my sandwich then she wants to go back and forth about it I will NEVER go back to this location and I used to come here all the time these young people need to know they place and respect customers because without us spending our hard earned money there would be no Jersey Mike’s I will be contacting the corporate office about this situation and yes I gave her a piece of my mind she snatched my money out of my hand and still was running her...
