WOW!! It's been some years since I've eaten at Ruby Tuesdays. Not by any fault of theirs I can assure you, but because I moved from Tallahassee, only 40 miles or so, but moved non the less so the opportunity didn't present itself as often. I often wandered what happened to them after they left the Governors Square Mall. Well, my wife and I went to Tallahassee to spend the day together, do some shopping and being it was Valentines Day we were gonna grab a meal, but hadn't been able to decide on a place. As she looked at the vast amount of restaurants in and around the area with the hopes of narrowing the choices to a manageable few, I asked about Ruby Tuesdays. Luckily for She and I she had them in contention. So with irony mixed with the memories of delicious food we headed over to Care Dr. Well I'm gonna tighten this review up because although I want it to be informative, I don't want to discourage anyone from going there to eat what was for me worth 10x what we paid. 1st off our waitress was the nicest, energetic, personable, knowledgeable, reliable, and competent waitress or waiter for that matter that I've had the pleasure of having as our waitress in all my 50+ years of eating. Tonya and I split the 2 for 22, I believe it was called. It included an appetizer, hers was the most gorgeous and delicious cheeseburger I've seen in years. I was blessed with 1/2+slab of baby backs with the sides of course, and last but certainly not least a trip to a salad bar where dreams are made. After that salad we were only able to nibble before submitting to the to go box. Thank You Jesus and Ruby Tuesdays for a Valentines Day that my Wife and I won't soon forget. Needless to say, I see alot more opportunities arising that will bring me to Care Dr. I'm also gonna look into whether I can mention our waitress by name and if I can I will be written an update/addition review just for her to get the recognition she well deserves. Attn: Ruby Tuesdays I strongly consider you do your Homework. You know the day, time was around 3ish, and her name started with an L if I'm not mistaken. You want to keep her happy,...
Read moreWe were a party of 5 arriving around 7 pm on a Thursday. There were not a lot of other guests in the restaurant, but they were severely understaffed, and it took them at least 10 minutes to just get us seated. I would not have given Ruby Tuesday a bad rating because of this though. We have had good experiences at Ruby Tuesdays in other states in the past. The staff who was at this particular Ruby Tuesday was professional and working as hard as they could, or harder. We had to wait for silverware for another 15 minutes, got our appetizers before our drinks. The salad bar was a bit lacking, but considering the pressure that the staff was under, it was acceptable. Our main complaint is the food: four of us got the smash burger with fries, and they were paper thin, burned, which basically made these "burgers" nothing like burgers at all. Worst of all was the chicken burger. It's consistency was that of rubbery cartilage, impossible to eat. There is no excuse for a franchise like Ruby Tuesday to use a supplier who provides that kind of "meat." Unacceptable. We left hungry and much later than we would have liked. I still left a big tip though because that poor staff... This kind of restaurant should have a backup plan for times like spring break. We concluded that we will never again eat at a Ruby Tuesday. We'd tip that staff well at another establishment any...
Read moreJamal is great. He’s the only great part about this place. He cannot possibly wait on 10 tables at a time AND train someone. We come for the salad bar in addition to ordering regular food. Cold food, horribly low stocked and dirty salad bar. We waited 40 minutes for our bill. No refills. Poor Jamal was trying to train some sweet girl but she just ended up trying to refill drinks for people. The manager was training some FOH staff but should have been attending to customers. Train them on your own time, not at the dinner hour. They need to be following someone to learn anyway. Then the tip machine said “18% of the bill is $7 and change.” And that was the lowest I could leave. Well, 18% of my bill which was $28 —- is not $7. They forced me to leave a 25% tip. Which I would have done anyway but that is deceptive and wrong. Since Jamal wasn’t really to blame we obviously tipped him, but we definitely won’t come back. Shame, as this place had been a childhood favorite. This review came after a couple of these experiences here over the last few months but it’s not getting better. IF YOU NEED WORKERS, PAY THEM. Or is that why your tip amounts...
