Had an amazing experience here. The waiting staff were very friendly. All the food was phenomenal. I had the country fried steak with over easy eggs and cheese grits. I loved the steak. It was nice and cripsy breaded and the gravy was extremly flavorful sausage gravy. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I was not a huge fan of the grits because they were served unseasoned (most likely for a reason), but I am a firm beliver if you dont use salt in the preparation process, it never tastes the same no matter how much salt you add after the fact. Otherwise a great meal with no complaints. I tried a single signature pancake on the side as well, the Sweet Potato Pancake. It was a phenomenal combination of flavors with the faint sweet potato flavor of the pancake mixed with crunch, nuttiness of praline, sweetness of the brown sugar, and the freshness of the whipped cream all coming together harmoniously. Be advised though, it is very rich and quite sweet, so bring a friend to polish that puppy off. We also ordered the Dakota, which was a wonderfully prepared and seasoned steak and eggs. They do an excellent job making the home fries, which were seasoned perfectly and nice and crispy on the outside, but smooth and soft inside almost like mashed potatoes. And if that wasnt enough, the toast was thick and lightly toasted soft and just overall good bread. We also got a side fruit cup (which the server forgot at first, but was very apologetic and immediately resolved it when asked) and the fruit was nice and fresh. Overall we had an amazing experience and would return any time we are in the area again. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a traditionally good breakfast or a unique twist you wont find...
Read moreNice clean, bright atmosphere though a little cool so bring a sweater. Great friendly service. Coffee hot and good and plenty of it. I had the the BLT Eggs Benedict-English muffin, arugula, slices of tomato and avocado, strips of bacon, eggs and hollandaise sauce with paprika sprinkled on top and a side of hash browns. The overall flavor of the combination was delicious. The overall appearance was good except maybe a little heavy handed with the hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise sauce had cooled down by the time it was served to me (did I mention the restaurant was very cool?) and was good but not the best I have ever had. I would suggest breaking the bacon up into bits instead of strips because the entire esthetics of the meal are destroyed trying to saw through the bacon strips then the English muffin. I don't think a steak knife would have done much better on the bacon but may have worked on the English muffin. The hash browns were crispy but plain. My wife had the Breakfast Quesadillas with sautéed peppers and onions, bacon, scrambled eggs and shredded cheddar wrapped in a grilled tortilla and served with fresh salsa and sour cream. She ordered the home fries which were very hot and crispy though again kind of plain tasting. She said her meal was delicious, fresh tasting and filling (had a to go box with another meal). Again the portions were quite filling and we thought reasonably priced. I...
Read moreI would really urge that the wait staff and kitchen receive training for food allergens and food safety. The lack of care in both taking my order and prep was really upsetting to witness. We called in the order prior to arriving there to make sure it was first possible. It really was a very simple request and just required clear communication from the wait staff to the kitchen. The woman who took the order did not properly note the allergens on the ticket but simply said "No onion/No Garlic" on a meal that was still prepared with garlic and onion powder. When questioned, the kitchen had no knowledge that the request was due to an allergy, and we had to wait for the meal to be remade. As we stood there, it was clear that the staff was more annoyed than apologetic. I promise you designating food allergies is not something we do for entertainment or making your job harder, but out of necessity for our own health and protecting ourselves. If you are unable to accommodate, simply say so. If you are willing to do so, please take the same care in prep as you would if it were a beloved family member's meal. This visit was my second attempt to dine out like a "normal" person in over a year but the meal ended up in the trash due to lack of confidence in its safety and the attitude witnessed...
