My wife, my daughter, and I decided to grab a quick bite, at what has always been our neighborhood Beef's earlier this evening. As we entered we were greeted by a representative of the restaurant who politely informed us we could sit where we like. As we settled at a table near the bar, I could see maybe 10 or so patrons seated around the bar itself. After waiting for approximaty 10 minutes I left the table and approached two staff members standing at the end of the bar. Upon seeing me walking towards them, one staff member grabbed menus as to walk to our table. I then accepted the menus and returned to the table, only to continue waiting for someone, anyone, to approach our table and take our drink orders. At this point there are the 10 or so people at the bar, and the three of us, as no other table in the bar area was occupied. After placing our orders, one of the bar patrons, who had apparently been there a while, begins shouting expletives in an effort to be heard by other bar patrons who were doing there best to ignore him. Now, I'm no saint, and my daughter certainly possesses both the maturity and intelect to know that alcohol amplifies attitude, but this guy was obnoxious. In the drunks defense; however, he was having to compete with the volume of the television sound system, which was entirely too loud considering there were literally 13 of us within earshot. On a good note, the food arrived quickly, and was edible, but hardly worth the $50 + tab, considering we did not order anything from the bar. Nearly $3.00 a piece for sodas, for $9 I could have purchased 5 litres of soda.
I strongly believe that supporting local business is more important now than ever, and am glad do so. Our neighborhood Beefs used to be a family oriented establishment who took great pride in serving the South Tampa community. I have since learned the there is new ownership, which would explain the decrease in customer service, and an overall change in the vibe.
With all of the changes these unprecedented times have brought us, its rare that we are afforded the opportunity to enjoy a sense of normalcy at are old spots. Although it remains in the same location, we will not be returning, as this is no longer our...
Read moreI live right around the corner not even 2 minutes away. I have ordered food from here several times. My last visit a week ago was not great at all. I ordered wings for a gathering I was having for the Bucs game. Later that night into the early morning, my and myself became very sick. Later the next day I called my guests to see how they were feeling and found that a couple of them had been sick as well. We all ate the same thing wings and cake except for my son who only had wings. I know that we were sick from the wings. In a few days everyone felt better except for my son. He had to go to the doctor's twice and was given medication. When this happened I immediately informed the restaurant. At that point they asked for a note from the doctor, which my son's pediatrician wrote to them. I dropped the note off and was informed that they were going to discuss it with corporate. A day later I still have to take my son back to the doctor because he was still sick and had lost some weight and was afraid that he's becoming dehydrated. Again I sent them another letter from the doctor. I was advised that they were still waiting on an answer of what they were going to do. I asked if there was anything I should do because I had never been in this situation before and was told no that they would get back to me. A few days went by and I called them back again because I had not heard from them. At that point I was told that they had spoke with corporate and along with their customers that were there that day and no one was sick so they don't believe that the wings that caused the food poisoning. I know for a fact that it was the wings and I let that be known. The owner/managers did not care. I spent 85 dollars i'm wings they gave us food poisoning. I would never returned back to this restaurant and I am reporting them to the proper authorities. I'm very displeased because I've never had an issue there before and for them to be so dismissive was very disheartening. I would give...
Read moreWell walking in and having a seat by the game machines. While my family are talking amongst ourselves. There is a very loud Birthday party on the other side at the bar. So I see the bartender pouring shots and as he's passing them too the group I noticed he's taking a shot as well. UM BIG NO NO!!! Red flag. Then there no one working the floor for waitresses. So the bartender comes over with the menus and passes to everyone but seemed buzzed . So I know it's against the law as you're working behind the bar you're not allowed to consume while you're on the clock!! But yet he was running back and forth to the kitchen cooking the food intended to the bar and not once when he got back to the bar did he wash his hands. It was young tall skinny guy with a little bit of a goatee but as far as drinking behind the bar when he shouldn't be. The burger was good but the onion rings were over done chicken wings over done they gave us a kids fries instead of a decent size of fries I believe management needs to stay on top of these guys that are working at the bar obviously they're drinking and there's no consequences why you're at the bar for the employees another thing small children should not be allowed in a bar like this I know the back side is for the families the smaller children like three and four-years-old don't need to be in a...
