LOVE LOVE LOVE this coffee shop! I am hooked on them, no seriously. I live 30 minutes away and make the drive happily, just to have another cup of their delicious coffee. Also a plus, their food is amazing. Customer service is great as well, everyone is super mellow here.
First time I went I really underestimated the place, the outside isn’t to appealing and the drive-thru through me off(very convenient). I thought will this be like another Starbucks ? I was so wrong. Went inside and the place is super cute & cozy(couch is so comfy). Interior is very simple & organized. I think it has a good amount of seating and I never have trouble with parking when I come.
I’ve gone 3 times in a row since I first went. Always order my iced latte with caramel& vanilla flavor. Their coffee is strong, that’s my favorite part and very unique tasting. It is lightly sweetened and taste just right. I’m not sure of their method when making their coffee but it always has a nice fluffy creamy foam on top, whether you order a hot or iced latte. It’s so good and just thinking about it makes me want one. Friends & family members think the same.
Food is delicious. VEGAN options as well, so kudos to them. I’ve had the avocado salmon toast & the lemon aioli biscuit, and both are scrumptious. Their pastry items are as well. Very good prices compared to other coffee shops on Tampa.
They have a reward program which is always a plus. Every 5 drinks , you earn a FREE one. This is very fair and will keep me coming back . Lastly, if you attach their company sticker on your car bumper you receive 20% off your order, when you go through their drive thru. Only place I know that does this and doesn’t hurt that the sticker is super cute &represents me...
Read moreCaffeine Roasters has arisen from the former Drama Burgers site on Kennedy Boulevard. It's a nice remodel. Inside features raw wood accents and abundant comfortable seating along with a background of an R&B and jazzy music mix. It's designed for the coffee purist and the prices reflect that. While they offer some typical drip coffee the main draw are the 4 alternative brewing methods- Aeropress ($3). V60 & Kalita ($4.50), and Chemex ($5.70). They also sell house roasted coffee beans at $16 -$17 for a 12oz bag. Premium prices! Many of their food menu items are straight out of Trendy Digest. (Not that there's anything wrong with that). For breakfast they offer three types of avocado toast, eight versions of egg sandwiches (on a variety of biscuits, croissants, and toast, and wraps), and a mix of yogurts and cereals. There is also a case with quiche and an offering of different pastries including croissants. I tried the cheese and spinach quiche. I was a little frustrated that it took 15 minutes to deliver (while my Chemex coffee got cold). Then I found out that they actually heat it in an oven versus slapping it in a microwave like other restaurants do. It was a long wait but worth it. The crust was flaky and the filling just the right combination of egg, cheese, and spinach, all served on a bed of fresh greens. When I first heard of the Caffeine was opening I wondered why there was a need for yet another coffee roaster and shop. But now I get it. Their coffee is artisanal and good, and their food prepped with care. Friendly fast service, and along with coffee and food items, they also sell coffee brewing equipment. I will definitely go back...
Read moreSub par at best.
I genuinely think this place has a lot of potential, but I was surprised it has such high ratings. This could be compared to gas station coffee. The ratings are likely because it's one of the few coffee shops that's not Starbucks (especially in Tampa) that you can easily find and get to on Google Maps. But convenience doesn't mean better coffee, it just means more stars on google reviews. The best ones seem to be off the map. Very much prefer Blind Tiger and even Starbucks (corporate coffee, I know).
I did the drive thru which was average/good in terms of wait time. Friendly drive thru guy who was patient with my indecisiveness at the drive thru.
I got an iced matcha and an iced caramel macchiato. The macchiato was decent (6/10) and the milk based matcha... TRASH (3/10). Had a "skunk" after taste. Iykyk. Main perk is that they don't over-ice and you get a lot of coffee for an already inexpensive drink.
It's kind of like one of those coffee shops you go to when you're tired and traveling and it happens to be the closest to the hotel. I will go here again for business / further inspection (my initial one was only cursory) and try different drinks, maybe sit down inside. Then, I'll update my review. I won't go here for fun.
Like I said, this place has potential and I'd go here if I was desperate, but I wouldn't bring a friend to show off my extensive knowledge of cool cafes for this; I would go to Blind...
