China One — Restaurant in Tampa

I started by checking the menu. Same as every other take out. Process are higher then Jacksonville or Pensacola. Woman was fast to the counter, no customer service...no smile no banter and she seemed irritated to have to get off her phone that she left on the counter of the meal assembly area. I ordered my baseline: General Tso, extra spicy, pork fried rice, egg roll and soda. Cost me $8 something. Then I noticed the rags (3) left out through the kitchen area. I also noticed the two prep guys were not wearing gloves. Stainless steel and vents looked really good. The tables and windows were streaked by greasy rags. Both doors were open and a fly joined us while I waited for my food. It didn't take very long, 10 minutes perhaps. I checked the solo restroom before leaving. Two play TP, half ply paper towels, mirror was streaky and the toilet seemed pretty dirty considering the average customer is just there for carry out. Soap was full. Just below average. The food was in styrofoam containers, I saw no wooden chopsticks available but I didn't ask. The food just seemed bland. Could be me so I try not to judge too much but that's part of the reason I ask for extra spicy...it wasn't very spicy. About half way through all I tasted was the fryer grease. Egg roll and the package of "duck sauce" was even bland to me. Was hot temperature wise and had a good presentation. I ate half to save the rest for later....so good size portion, IMO. Absolutely disgusting establishment! After already eating some of the sesame chicken I tried the rice only to find a long reddish colored hair in my mouth! At that point and only a few bites in I was just disgusted and three it in the trash. While sitting there eating a roach crawled across the floor so I stepped on it. Their makeshift glass enclosure makes new tampa look like a bad are but once seen what all throughout the enclosure we had enough and decided to say something about how filthy the place was and that their enclosure is full of dead cochroaches and probably live ones as well. When we said something about the hair and the roaches dead and alive we were ignored!. Now I know why the enclosure is up there ( to protect them from upset customers who may want their money back but good luck because they won't talk to you! Do not eat here! No gloves no hairnets and the place is completely filthy! Next step is contacting the health department I pray they get their act together, clean this place up and not serve food out 9f there until their problems are...

Brand new chinese takeout spot here in New Tampa and the best I've found thus far. This little storefront has seating for 12-16 people. The remodel to the space is clean and modern with the tile backsplash giving it a great flare.

The menu is your straight forward chinese american takeout spot with all of the usual suspects on the menu. They do offer a lunch special until 3pm every day with fried rice and a drink at a reasonable ($6-8) price.

We got the honey chicken lunch combo and it was hot and ready in under 10 minutes. This honey chicken is the honey chicken dreams are made of. The perfectly fried chicken came with a golden brown, thin, crispy batter. But the honey sauce was the stuff of my dreams - sticky, flavorful, and oh so delicious - it was sweet, but not overly so and perfectly provided a candylike coating on the chicken. The portion was more than enough for two people to enjoy. The fried rice was delicious with flavorful pieces of roasted char siu pork.
